You may need to first find who made it.
If you can find a sticker with an 'FCC ID' number they might be listed with the FCC by manufacturer's name.

You can decode it here if present:

Model M17ANA shuts off intermediatly Turns on ok but after a few seconds shuts off then back on again.

The issue you describe is a power supply gone bad. Actually it is a capacitor inside the PS that is now defective (it may be more than one). This seems to be a frequent problem with this particular monitor as I have personally had the same issue with one a owned.

Unfortunatly there is no good solution as there are basically only two options available to you.

1. Find an 'electronics /computer shop' that will remove the PS and repair it.
2. send the monitor to Star-Logic for repair.

The basic issue with either scenario is that the cost to repair may be more than the unit is actually worth. For instanse, you can purchase a new 20" LCD monitor for less than $90 form places like newegg.com.

I hope this helps you in some way.

Good Luck!

I need a replaqcement trqansformer for my Starlogic monitor model # HD20W) the transformer is 120V -!2v 5A. Thanks for youyu help.

If the transformer puts out a simple 12 Volts regulated at 5 Amps, you should be able to go to any electronics parts distributor and order a regulated power supply at the mentioned specs. There are models that come enclosed with terminals on them. You can also buy the supply raw, wire the AC cord to it, get an enclosure for it, and wire the the 12 Volt output side to the TV as necessary.

If you are not experienced at doing this type of work, find an electronics type person to do this for you. If you confuse the polarity to the TV set, or not select the proper power supply, you can damage the TV set.

These power supplies are not very expensive. A new low cost one can cost about $60 to $80 US depending on the model type and rating. Professional high quality type supplies can cost a lot more.

Sometimes these supplies can be found slightly cheaper from electronics parts surplus dealers. I have seen them sold surplus for under $20.

I have a Star Logic 20" monitor and cannot get the resolution set higher than 800 x 600. HELP?

You are limited to the capabilities of your video card in your computer. The monitor itself is not part of the ability to raise the resolution. Go to Display Properties under Control Panel and slide the resolution all the way to the right. If the max is 800X600 then that is the max for your video card. Buy new video card.

Star logic monitor settings

I typically do capacitor replacement on lcds all the time insde, the board for power will most likely have 1 - 4 blown capacitors, replace these and the monitor should be good as new, btw 1 is a 10 v smallish size you can replace it with a 16 volt same MF.

This is most often caused by a serious failure and the power supply is protecting itself and you from fire by cycling the AC off and on.
