Download & install and reboot. if sound works--fine, else the speakers system to check whter they are damaged or not...........sodeep
The Service Manual may tell you the chipset of the sound card(but I didn't see it just part numbers). Also, you can run this utility here(look for audio in the output), in the event that you can't figure out the chipset otherwise.
According to this post, it appears that it may be part of windows update, you can try that.
