Question about Nintendo Wii Console

I can't access the wii settings

Please shed some light to my wii problem.

I have a US version Mod, I inserted a game disc and it automatically did an update then my wii hanged. I restarted my wii eject the disc then tried it again. No update selected the game and it hanged again. After another restart I tried my other game disc, it worked and I was able to play the other disc.

My dilemma: I noticed that after the update, I can't access the wii settings. When I select the icon it follows an error page

" You tried to access the address marc:FIX/US/index01.html which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated. then try reloading the page.

Make sure your internet connection is actives and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working."

Hi we brought wii games from thailand is there anyway they will play on our australian WII

(If you just want to keep your Wii system normal) Nintendo games are put onto DVD-ROM discs, Australia's and Thailand's DVD region codes are different, so it would not be compatible. Austrailia is in Region 4, Thailand is in region 3.
(If you want to Mod your Wii) However, you could Mod your Wii, most mod chips are able to circumvent region coding and copy protection, which will let you play games created in different regions.

Here are some Pros and Cons of modding your system with a mod chip.
You can play back up copy's of your games. You can play games from different regions (Such as you want to) You can play homebrew games. (User created Wii games)

CONS: 1.This WILL void your warranty 2.Some updates may try and Brick your Wii (Make system inoperable, you will have to buy a new one.), always read what people say about the new update before you update if you have a modded system.
3.Keeping your Wii up to date is very important especially when you are playing out of Region disc games, you could brick your system if you don't be careful.

New Wii!!! "Can´t read the disc" message.

Jessica first check to make sure that you got the right version of wii disc etc america region supports ntsc games while europe supports pal , if you do have the correct game i advise you not to update the wii and do two of the following things
1) return the wii and get a new one
2) soft mod the wii once below system menu 4.2, if mod works it should fix disc error if not the disc drive is bad and you will need to change it.

Wii unable to read disc

If it is multiple store bought wii games, then your wii dvd drive will need to be replaced. Your other choice would be to mod the system and play games from a hard drive. Go to for free mod software.

My wii behaving very strangely

If you mod your wii it will most definatly brick... your only hope is to either "un-mod" it (reverse what you), or buy another one because Nintendo says on the warrantee, and game case that "DO NOT TRY TO MODIFY THIS DEVICE" it is not covered by the warrantee...

Wii fit and other disks wont load

Sure! I still have my manual! But, P.s. you can go to and click support at the top of the screen to further direct you in the future to troubleshooting issues! ;) Ok, under SYSTEM UNABLE TO READ DIS OR GAME DISC WILL NOT OPPERAT IN CONSOLE: it mentions to remind you that disc do not play automatically, that you must go to the disc channel to play. Also, make sure that the disc is inserted correctly. Label side to the right. Be sure disc is clean and in good condition. If dirty, wipe fron center to outer side of disc, not in circular motion. Eject disc and turn power off. Then try again. Check that your disc is meant to be palyed on your regions game system. These are all from the manual. So, if these solutions do not work, try accessing the troubleshooting from the website as I mentioned. Hope you get it figured out! Please leave me a great rating if I've helped! :)
