I answered your other post, but anyway about the back panel, you may unscrew a door (an explansion bay perhaps) to expose more rollers for you to check, be careful because the proccess may VOID the unit's warranty.

angor540, the back panel i was refering to was the actual assembly, like the whole back panel. if you can remove this it will show you more rollers, but be careful not to touch any circuit for the scanner.

after removing the back panel, you will see a part of the board, on the side you will see the other rollers.

Turn it off, and open the printer as much as you can. Then pull the paper out.

If there is a door in the back of the printer, try opening that, and pulling the paper from there.

After that, you might want to try and print a test page.

My printer jams and a warning w-2 comes on the screen

Sorry to hear about your problem but two local friends have also had similar problems with that specific model. Both have since purchased the SX225 (think it is still available - or similar number). They both arrange replacements with Epson as fault occurred within the warranty period. It seems to be something to do with shreds of paper or creased sheets going though getting caught in the printer that then "jumps" the drive mechanism and puts the whole thing out of sequence so the printhead is misaligned. You will (hopefully get exchange from Epson if in warranty period) or find a repair is as expensive as getting a new model. Good luck. You could check to see if anything has got caught inside (paper clips are a big problem!) as that could produce the error message too.

Canon Pixma iP 6600D printing problem.. went to print a scanned document .... paper began to feed in askew from autopaper feeder . Printing process stopped. the process was repeated a couple more times...

To fix the paper feed problem, Clean / rub each roller with a damp cloth with a dab of detergent.
Check for paper residue , especially near the paper empty flag,
Then reset the printer:
First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0?. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

How do I print just one mailing label without running through an entire sheet time I print using an Epson LQ-590 and printing from the mail merge option in MS Word (MS XP)? In other words, when I print...

I assume you are using a sheet of labels, such as the typical 3 x 10 sheet. Word sets up the mail-merge document for printing the whole sheet, so if you print just one or two labels, you will `waste' the rest.
One way of using that sheet over is to create a mail merge that contains blank `dummy' addresses. It is rather involved and at best time consuming, and considered not worthwhile to save a partial sheet.
I service printers, and personally do not recommend that any label sheet be re-used. The printer curls the paper, in some cases fuses it, and causes the corners of the labels to be exposed, and possibly get caught in the printer (I have removed a lot of labels from inside printers)

Paper feed problem

Hi

This is happening due to paper jam on the gear or roller of the paper feed mechanism. Check for any small bits of paper or sheet stuck. To check lift up the top plastic lid of the Canon printer. Check to see if a jammed sheet of paper is visible inside the printer. Remove the cartridges and check for any small paper bits stuck under the print head. Pull the paper out gently through the bottom end of the printer(if any). Close the top plastic lid. Power On the printer and check.

If it doesn't work then power off the printer, wait 10 seconds and power it back on. try once again to print. If it doesn't work then Open the Canon printer software. Click "Options" and then select the "Clean Print Heads" button.

Duplex mode, paper retracted and DISAPPEARED!

For duplex the paper feeds into the bottom paper tray, you need to make sure that paper is not stuck in the bottom area.

Will not Print

Try a hardware check of the printer first. To check the hardware of the printer, do the following:
  1. Switch off the printer.
  2. Load one sheet of paper into the paper feeder.
  3. Press the Power button and the Paper Feed button at the same time and hold them both down for three seconds. Then release the Power button only.
  4. When the printer begins to print, release the Paper Feed button. A page will be printed. The page should contain some text at the top and a series of horizontal color lines (cyan, magenta and yellow) below the text, with a thick black line below the colored lines. All the lines should be solid.
  5. When the test is complete, switch off the printer. NOTE: If you do not switch off the printer, it will continue to print.

Paper jam 580

You know what I would try, look in the fuser unit and see if any paper ripped off and got stuck in there. Wait until it's cooled down, but usually if you have to pull paper of of there, little pieces can get caught in there. Also, you may have a full sheet in there, I've had people leave and entire sheet in the fuser all scrunched up and the machine print fine for another 100 prints and then have an error and the paper coming out looking like it almost caught fire.

That's where I would look first if there isn't anything in the print path under the toners, etc.
