SOURCE: washing machine won't spin

If it fill and motor runs but will not agitate it likely is the coupler. If you have the cabinet off and see the motor here is what you do.
there are 2 metal straps that attach the motor to the transmission. take the screws out that hold the straps on and pop the straps out of their slots. the motor will then come off and the coupler is between the motor and transmission. One section goes on motor shaft and one on the transmission shaft with rubber bushing in between.
Coupler part number is 285753A

SOURCE: Kenmore machine won't do more than fill on SOAK setting;won't run

I'm unsure how the normal operation was restored. I attempted to correct it by setting the machine to SOAK+PREWASH overnight to assure that the SOAK timer had run out. Then My wife (who never uses SOAK or PREWASH options) made a clockwise trip around the TIMER control stopping at each of the "detents" (I did not witness this) one of the spin entry points worked to empty the washwater and the NORMAL wash cycle resumed normal function.
I'm not confident that my description above contains all the essential information needed to correct this problem and am disappointed that
I cannot find SUPPORTING LITERATURE that shows how to use these alternate cycles and combinations without another hang-up like these two that I have experienced. That which is supplied with the washer is pathetically inadequate and the Sears site has little else to offer. Document #8566913 was not delivered with the machine but I did find it somewhare on the INTERNET printed parts of it for additional help. *ALERT* #1: Just now I discovered that it does cover the Model series 110.2692* of which my machine is part ... and it ALONE warns of the 20 minute mandatory wait when two controls are set to obtain SOAK+PREWASH function.
*ALERT* #2: Last nite I discovered that the lid switch makes NO SOUND when the lid is lowered normally but can be made to click by pressing on the left rear of the lid. Feeling under the lid, I found no switchpad (?) on the operating arm as shown in diagrams found elsewhere.
FINAL QUESTIONS: 1) could failure to FULLY operate the lid switch allow partial function of this machine, e.g. to fill, agitate, rinse and spin normally but not to soak or prewash? 2) can anyone direct me to a place where I can obtain breakdown diagrams repair directions for this machine?

SOURCE: GE Front load washer spinning too slow????

A couple of things come to mind,if the micro-processor senses the load is out of balance enough, it will control the RPMs(reveloutions per minute) or slow it down in order to avoid damage to the suspension system, so readjusting the spin speed manuallly probably would help. Although that machine should be able to handle 9 large towels easily! Next thing, have you cleaned out the trap inside the lower access panel, if it is restricted you will have draining problems. Good luck !

Spilt milk inside Smeg oven door

no use crying over it :>)

Get an old towel and soak it in hot water. Put baking soda over the stain, then the towel and wrap the door in cling film. Leave overnight. Wash off with hot water.

If it is between the glass in the door, then you have to remove the door, remove the screws holding the two halves of the door together and then do the above.

How to soak items before washing

Prewash isn't usually that long. It is to remove heavy soil before washing and is typically about 15 to 30 minutes. With modern detergents and a pre-wash, they should come clean.

I have miele w500 problem is the soak/pre-wash

hi, the problem you are having with the "soak/prewash" light flashing after the wash has started is a common fault on the meile washing machine. Its a water sensor problem. remove all srews and bolts from front of machine and open the front panel. you will see a red in colour pressure switch at one oclock, there will be a black tube attached to it, remove the tube and replace it with a new one, or reverse the tube in reverse and you will find that the water intake level will be less and the fault of the "soak/prewash" light will no longer flash, problem solved. 0868887054 DAVID ASHBOURNE. MIELE W412 PREWASH INDICATOR FLASHING

If your PreWash is flashing then you have a pressure problem. You can dry using a washer machine cleaner or doing a hot cycle with white vinegar. If that doesn't help the electronic would have to be changed.

I've bought a Miele W310 front loader, which is secondhand, so i don't have a manual. i would just like to know how to do a short wash. There are buttons: 'Short' 'Prewash'...

The short cycle is only an option for Cottons. Make sure that you have set the desired program temp for a cotton cycle (95-30 degrees C). You should be able to select the Short cycle by pressing the button below the Soak light several times. (Note: this cycle is for small amounts of clothing which are lightly soiled - use less detergent (1/2 the amount for a full load).)

If it doesn't work when on the Cotton cycle, then the switch inside the control panel may be faulty.

The manual is available from Miele, http://www.miele.co.uk/customer/OperatingInstructions.aspx . Enter the type of appliance and then scroll down the list. The direct link to the manual for the W310 is http://www.miele.co.uk/Resources/OperatingInstructions/W%20310.pdf .

I hope this helps.

A pen exploded in the dryer and I cannot remove the ink from inside the drum.

Hello 5.....
  1. Turn the dryer off and remove any laundry from inside the drum.

  2. Unplug the dryer.

  3. Dampen a paper towel with rubbing alcohol.

  4. Scrub the ink stain with the dampened towel. Repeat, if necessary, with a fresh towel dampened with rubbing alcohol, to remove all the ink.

  5. Wipe the area with a cloth dampened with water, to remove any alcohol residue.

  6. If the stain persists, soak a white rag with rubbing alcohol or hairspray and scrub the stain. It may take repeated applications to dissolve the ink. Joe

How to clean Kenmore Oasis Washer. I cannot find my user guide.

Hello there:
please use these simple steps
What You Will Need
  • Lemon Juice, Lime Juice or Vinegar
  • Borax
  • Spray Cleaner
  • Paper Towels
  • Q-tips
  • Bucket
  • Vacuum with hose attachment
Important Safety Tip: Before attempting to clean your washing machine, it is important to UNPLUG YOUR MACHINE. NEVER attempt to clean your washing machine when it is still plugged in as you run the risk of electrocution!
Cleaning the Washing Machine:
  1. Start by using the spray cleaner and paper towels to wipe down the top, front, and sides of the washing machine. This step alone makes a big difference in the appearance of your machine.
  2. Next, we will work on cleaning out the inside of the machine.
  3. Spray some cleaner onto a couple of paper towels and use it to wipe down the underside of the lid, and under the lip of the washer.
  4. Now it’s time to clean the basin of the washer. Fortunately, the machine will do most of the work for you. You will need to run several cycles to get the machine completely clean.
  5. Begin by filling the washing machine using the hot water and largest load setting.
  6. Add 2 cups of lemon or lime juice if you have rust problems or 2 cups of vinegar for odor problems. If you have both problems, run a cycle of each.
  7. Allow the washing machine to run through a complete wash and rinse cycle.
  8. Fill the washer a second time with hot water on the largest load setting.
  9. Add 2 cups of bleach to the water. This will aid in stain removal.
  10. Allow the washing machine to run through a complete wash and rinse cycle.
  11. If all of the stains are removed, run an additional cycle without adding anything to the water. This will allow any remaining residue to be rinsed away thoroughly.
  12. Remove the bleach dispenser and fabric softener dispenser and soak them in a bucket of warm water.
  13. When they have soaked long enough to loosen most of the build-up, remove them from the water and lay them on a paper towel.
  14. Spray them with the spray cleaner and wipe away any dirt using the paper towels. Use Q-tips to remove dirt from corners and tight areas.
  15. Dry the dispensers and return them to their original places in the machine.
  16. Use the vacuum with the hose attachment to vacuum all around and under the washing machine. A large amount of dust tends to accumulate behind the washer and dryer, so take extra care in vacuuming all the dirt away, especially from cords and electrical outlet areas. This not only makes it cleaner, it helps to alleviate a possible fire hazard.
  17. This is a good time to check the hoses and make sure they are securely attached. If not, you may be mopping the floor soon too!
Additional Tips and Advice:
  • If you have stubborn stains on the inside of your machine, there are cleaning products designed for washing machines that are available at most hardware and home improvement stores.
  • If your clothes have picked up the odor from your machine, wash them with a cup of borax.
  • Front loading washers tend get a build-up over time that leads to unpleasant odors. There are natural cleaners available to remove the fungus and get rid of the odor. However, to keep it away, you may need to change your detergent and/or fabric softener.

Whites are not white

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.
