Question about Hitachi 50FX48B 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

A friend gave me 50fx48b projection tv from his bar. I got it home and noticed the coax cable was somehow ripped out taking the screw part that goes into the tv with it. Can it be fixed and if so what are the replacement parts called? Oh yeah! How much?

If all that's wrong is the coax jack on the back of the TV is missing, you need a "female panel mount "F" connector". You should be able to buy it at Radio Shack. How to connect it to the remaining wire will depend on how the internal wiring was done. If you aren't handy, and there is still a stump of cable showing, you might be better off buying a cable with a female end, cutting it off and then splicing the cable end to what's left in your TV. Look for YouTube videos on splicing coax cable. Either way, you will have to understand how to handle the center conductor and the shield. If you wind up working inside the TV, make sure you thoroughly understand what you're doing to avoid injury.

Have a 50fx48b Hitachi TV and screen flickers and then goes to small wavy horizontal line. smack tv and it goes back to normal.

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

How to fix the antenna anolog cable connector that to coax cable connects to on back of TV.

Cut off the bad connector on the end of the coax cable. Go to Radio Shack, Home Depot, etc. and pick up a new twist-on coax connector, or a crimp on version if you have a crimping tool.

Twist the new coax connector on good and tight and you should be good to go.

BLURRY PICTURE

Turn on your projection TV and wiggle the coax cable from your cable box or antenna where it connects to the TV. If the picture fluctuates, you know that you have a loose connection, or that the coax cable is bad.

My Super Nintendo has a Coax output. My tv only takes component cables. What can I do so that everything will work?

Easy!! Im a game collector and i still have a SNES. The solution is simple

If you have a digital box then that means that a cable goes to the box and from the box a cable goes to your Tv. What you should do is unscrew that cable that goes to your Tv and you will screw the SNES coax cable notice that the SNES cable has and input coax cable entrance aswell so you can screw the Tv cable back in to it so you wont miss watching your fav channels after you finish playing awesome classic games on the SNES

I have a Motorola Quasar TV and an outside UHF Antennae. I have coax coming from Ant. There are 3 coax connectors on the back and one pair of screw terminals for 300 ohm flat lead in cable that is...

You are losing a VERY small amount of signal using the transformer. It won't even be noticeable I'm sure if you switch to the coax in but the fewer connections you go through the less the chance of a bad connection. Use regular " Ant. In " coax connection or " RF in" whichever the wording is on the back of your set. Good Luck!
