From the front with the belt around the drum in the correct position, and the drum in place. Reach in under the drum and put the belt around the pulley on the drive motor. Then find the idler pulley. It should be pulled to the base of the drier to the left of the drive motor pulley. Pull the idler pulley up and to the right and place it on the outside of the of the belt coming down from the drum to the drive pulley. It should pull back to the left and tension the belt.

Need to know where the tentioner pully goes to put the belt back on

Difficlut to specify as you did not indicate the make or model of your dryer, but usually the tensioner goes into slots on the machine base, and the belt holds the tensioner off of the interrupt/safety switch...

How do i replace the serpentine belt that goes tothe alt. ?

You will need a breaker bar to release the tensioner. A breaker bar is a long ratchet that doesn't ratchet. The breaker bar size for your car is 1/2".

You will see a square hole on the tensioner and that is where the breaker bar goes. Put the breaker bar in there and pull on it until it gives you enough slack to pull the belt off. Make sure to pull the right way to release the tension. IF it wont release the tension don't yank on it try going the other way, It will help to have two people to do this job. You only need to pull it off one pully then slowly let the tensioner go back.

To put the new belt on make sure you run the new belt the exact same way as the old. Again you will need to release the tension from the tensioner and slip the belt over the last pulley.

Steps to replacing the serpintine belt

release tension on belt by:
-put a socket/breaker bar or ratched on the tensioner pulley bolt and use it to relieve tension on the belt
-slide belt off tensioner pulley. replace with new belt in same pattern across all pulleys and again relieve tension on the tensioner puller to slide the new belt back on
--you may need to remove the bolt on the tensioner closest to the pulley (i don't know just judging by the picture i found)
---if you don't know what the tensioner looks like look up the part on autozone's website for a picture you can match on your car

We need to replace an alternator belt on a 2001 saturn sl2 series

YOU MEAN THE CERPENTINE BELT?? IT ONLY HAS ONE I BELIEVE. BELOW THE TOP FRONT ENGINE MOUNT THERES A BELT TENSIONER PUT A WRENCH ON THE CENTER BOLT AND TURN IT TO LOOSEN THE BELT, (INSTALATION) TURN THE TENSIONER TO PUT THE BELT BACK ON. AND IF YOU FORGOT THE WAY THE BELT GOES BACK ON, CHECK THE DECAL BY THE RADIATOR AND YOULL SEE THE PICTURE HOW IT GOES.

Dont know how belt goes

if you are going to replace your belt and you get it at Autozone, the belt routing will be on the package, but you need to check the automatic belt tensioner to see if it is still spring loaded,it bust not be since your belt came off,
