F! fault on Tappen range

I am assuming that by F! you meant F1. If this is the case it is a generic fault code meaning that the EOC (electronic oven control) is bad and needs to be replaced. It can be caused by any number of different things or by absolutely nothing at all. Sometimes these computer boards sense errors that don't actually exist. I would suggest turning power off to the unit for at least 2 minutes to perform a soft reset on the control. This will clear any error codes that the computer has stored and will be restarting from scratch. Sometimes this can be enough to solve the problem. If the error code comes back after the unit is powered on then you will need to replace the EOC to fix the unit.

How do I start the self cleaning? I hit clean and it does not start

On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.

Due to a power surge, the LED panel on our double wall oven has gone out. When we called Whilpool they say they don't make parts for this 3 year old oven anymore. Any suggestions?!!

Every manufacturer has to provide support for their products with certain conditions. Check Consumer Protection Act & MRTP Act in your country. You can go to Consumer Forum. We have received support from Japan for many products. Write a letter to the company & get a written reply. Ask them that is it not their responsibility to provide support? Another way is look for another oven in junk yard from which you could be able to use the panel/parts for your oven.

Gas oven(tappen) with broiler draw. oven will not light, no pilot

if this is fairly new, there is a hot surface ignitor near the back of the burner in the bottom part of the oven. This can go bad. There is a connector that can be pulled apart where the ignitor meets the wiring harness. Ohm out the ignitor or have someone with a meter ohm it out. There should be resistance and not open. If open the ignitor should be replaced. If you have a broiling element, turn that on. If the broil element comes on then the ignitor is almost for sure the problem.
