Question about KitchenAid KGSA906PSS Gas Kitchen Range
After self cleaning process the oven door needs to be closed or locked for approximately an hour for it to cool down.If after the oven has cooled down and still the door is locked try these:
1. Unplug the range or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes.
2. Set the self-clean cycle again and allow it to work for 15 minutes only. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever or opening the door.
If still the same problem chances are you have a blown thermo fuse. The self cleaning gets up to 1000f degrees and it's very hot. This is a common problem with KitchenAid. You may order a replacement thermo fuse at searspartsdirect.com. Their contact number is 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central.
