You could always uninstall it and reinstall the software.
that should take care of the problem.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Message reads yel. cart. needs to be reinstalled. So I install a brand new yel. same message. I reseat the cart. same message. I turn printer off, wait, turn it on, same message.

It's possible that the contacts that the cart connects to are bent, broken, or simply dirty. Moisten a cotton bud with alcohol, and GENTLY clean the contacts. Confirm the tape is off the new cart so it can connect. Then try again...

WIl not print correctly

If it is faded, it could be the transfer roller. I've had great success with simply periodically cleaning it, then getting a good printout. See my solution for this already posted: Check out this solution to the HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi Laser Color...

Otherwise, the other issue I had late last year was that it needed a new intermediate transfer belt (part #RM1-4436-000CN). You can find a good deal on one, and the instructions for replacement are on page 156 in the service manual: http://www.feedroller.com/Store/Service%20Manual/HP-CLJ-CM1312-MFP-Manual.pdf
It's not the hardest replacement ever, but needs 2-3 hours depending on skill, and a little patience.

Good luck!

We have four computers, 3 Macs and a PC networked via an Apple Time Machine to a Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP. All of the Macs display "Looking for Hewlett-Packard HP Color...

You should update your printers firmware and reload both Mac and windows drivers for the same printer. I look at this as more of a driver problem. Firmware and drivers can be located here. If problem persists, try to approach this instance by using the elimination method. remove pc from network, test with only macs connected. then remove macs and test with only PC connected. then finnaly, install this printer directly to pc and test the performance and then directly on one of the macs and test.

HP cm1312nfi control-panel display WHITE, it still...

Try doing a hard or reset or nvram:
1. Turn the printer off, disconnect the phone line
2. Hold down the right arrow and the cancel button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.

If the lcd does not display anything contact hp or a local service provider as there is a definite power failure.

Red color cannot print

I presume the LCD screen on the printer also shows that there is toner. Take the toner out and reinsert it. If that doesn't work use the hp software to troubleshoot it may give more information.

Replacing Cartridges on the HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi

Yes, you will replace the whole cartridge. Open the front door and pull out the cartridge drawer. Grab the handle for the magenta and pull it straight up. There should be directions in the box.

What is waste toner.

We've printed for years using gallon jugs of waste toner nabbed from Quick Print Shop* dumpsters. We just pop the white plug on our cartriges, fold a paper plate into 4ths, snip the tip to make a funnel, and dump it in a half cup at a time!

*Names changed, LOL
