Schwinn bike serial numbers

The Schwinn Super Le Tours were made in Japan from 1976 to 1985. Your serial number "K6" would have been made in November 1976.

Adjust handlebar height on Schwinn Varsity

I'm answering 7 years later. I have a Schwinn Varsity 2500 Bike made probably in 2015. The Schwinn Varsity Bike is not set up the same way as a traditional bike. I loosened the center compression bolt and the two side stem clamp bolts and it came loose where I can adjust it up or down but, there's nothing to tighten the slack up below. I did some research. My original post here was to add or remove a spacer. I think you can remove a spacer to lower but, I don't think the stem is long enough to add another one. I've seen they sell an extension that you can add-on to make the handle bars higher.

I want to adjust the handle bar height on my graft pro 24 speed mountain bike

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

A reputable Bicycle Shop would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.

It doesn't go any higher if that's what you mean.

I need help with raiseing and tighting the handlebars on a schwinn skyliner!!

there is either a bolt or a hex key nut there that you turn counterclockwise to loosen the bolt holding the post to the body, adjust to the height you wish, the return the bolt/nut to the point it stops not over-tightening the bolt.
Any other questions, please ask, happy to help

I need to see how to put a Schwinn 21 speed left hand shifter back together.

Schwinn doesn't make the shifter. Maybe Shimano? Determine the model and look it up at
http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp or the applicable manufacturer's website.

I would like to service my Schwinn Mesa, Is there a manual? If not what needs to be done for a general service?

Check, clean, and lube all the brake and shifter cables. Check and possibly replace brake pads. Check for any play in the headset ( this is the tube that carries the bearings for the handlebars and front fork ). Clean and lube the chain, gears, and derailers. After all of that just check the torque on all the hardware and make sure nothing is coming loose.
