SOURCE: Dishwasher will not start cycle.

OK so you have power, your door interlock switch is working, the intake solenoid is operating.

The issue is that the cycle does not start. This would indicate that your timer is not advancing. The timer tells the machine what to do, when, and for how long. It is not advancing and is stuck at the start of the wash cycle (fill with water). This is not a big issue as a timer is usually easy to replace.

I don't know what type of machine you have so I don't know if is a mechanical or a digital timer.

If mechanical dial type you can simply tun the dial and see if the cycles change. If so for sure you timer is the issue. You simply remove and replace.

Digital is harder to check but from what you say it is most likely your timer.

Shut the breaker off.

Remove the screws from the door frame and from inside the door. Gently remove the control panel. The timer is a simple unit to remove. Unscrew it and disconnect the power supply. Go get a new one from your local parts supplier. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Hope this helps, if so please rate this answer.

Dirty big black burn mark under relay ! Am now wondering if I can "just replace relay"... any thoughts? Thanks Rick

SOURCE: Kenmore dishwasher. Model 665.13593K600. No

Hi

If the dishwasher is not working with no lights or display then the most likely cause is an open thermal fuse.It is located in the console and can be checked for continuity with a meter or it can be bypassed if no meter is available. The thermal fuse will have a black wire and a black/white wire on it. If you have no meter then with the power turned off you can remove these two wires and join them together with a small piece of insulated wire and see if you get any lights. One other possibility is the wire connections at the dishwasher junction box behind the kick plate. Sometimes the wire nuts get loose and a good connection is lost. Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

The dishwasher is not sensing the door is latched/locked shut. Until you find the cause of this the washer will not start.

Dishwasher wont start

yes you are probably correct, it may still have a warranty on the circut board if it's only a couple of years old. One thing you can look for is dirt in the door lock, sometimes it can be cleaned out, the machine will not start if it thinks the door is still open, check the contacts in the door lock, hope this helps.

I am trying to clean the oven and F3 came on and lock light is fashing, the door was open but now has been pushed closed and locked oops! I live a long was from any repair people can you help

F3 means the temperature sensor is open circuit. This could be due to a bad sensor, or a problem in the control board. The lock is on because the control "thinks" the oven is hot.
