My Moen 3330 valve was working fine. When I tried to turn on the water, nothing came out. No cold, no hot, no top, no nozzles. Nothing appears to be loose.

SOURCE: No Cold Water

Sounds like the fans have stoped turning for the cooling system. If you cannot hear the fans turn on when you flip the COOL switch this is your problem. Pick the fans up at a computer parts store like Frys. Any other part failure on this unit other than a loose wire is not worth repairing.

SOURCE: only hot water, no cold water.

The cartridges in the single handle units are prone to display this issue in hard water areas as mineral deposits such as calcium build up on the stem. The stems also have small rubber band like rings - for lack of a better term- that break apart and can clog the ports on the side where the are on. New stem should resolve the issue totally unless you have had a pipe break or other construction to the plumbing system recently. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

You need to replace the stem. This will not cost you a dime; call MOEN and tell them the issue, with the model number, and they will send the replacement part. Many people don't know that MOEN is guaranteed for life (to the original owner)......another words, say you are the original owner :) They will not ask any questions. Good luck! PS Also works on any MOEN faucets you may have.

SOURCE: New Avalon faucet...after correct installation,

Easy fix, no need to call anyone or take it all apart. The aerator is clogged. It is located at the tip of the spout (where the water comes out). Unscrew it and run your water, if it runs freely the aerator is clogged. Either clean it out, or buy a new one for about 6 bucks. good luck

I have moen #3330 shower unit. All is installed but cannot get water to flow. What do I need to do???

First I would check that there is no debris stuck in the valve. In most cases if this is a pressure balanced valve if either the cold or hot water side does not have pressure the valve will not function. When installing the valve was it soldered in? If so was the valve cartridge removed when soldering? Was the valve body flushed after installation before the valve body installed if removed during installation? That model has plastic valve cartridges which are very sensitive to heat and must be removed before soldering. Also the valve body has intergal shut offs make sure that they are turned to the on position for both hot and cold. As I said above being that this is a pressure balanced valve water pressure must be available from both hot and cold. If either hot or cold has less pressure then the other the valve will balance the pressure to be equal, this is to prevent scalding.

Moen water flow restricted and only warm

Not sure about your particular valve, but most newer shower valves have an anti-scald limiter that stops the handle from turning too far to the hot water side. Check for a ring or a pin under the handle that can be set in different positions. It will need to be moved clockwise to allow the handle to rotate farther to hot.

Hope that helps. If you have trouble finding it, try looking up a diagram for the valve model.

Get hot water only....when rotated to cold get nothing....replaced cartridge but still the same.....shower has been unused since house was built

If you don't have easy access to hot and cold line, where you can disconnect and check for flow to faucet, You can try turning off incoming water supply, remove cartridge, and shut off hot outgoing at water heater, then slowly open incoming (cold) water supply only and see if cold flows from faucet with cartridge removed. At least that will confirm flow faucet, then go from there.

If this is a Moen posi temp valve you may need to adjust the temperature limit stop. It is located under the handle. Usualy a plastic peice with grooves in it so it fits in another peice in the valve. If I remember right you pull this peice out and turn it counter clockwise to get more hot water. Do this in small increments and reassemble and test. I hope this helps.

When you turn to hot it doesn't come out. Cold does.

Assuming that you have hot water at other faucets the problem could be a varnish buildup in the cartridge. After shutting off the hot and cold water either by turning off the main or at the faucet stops (if equipped), remove the cartridge and soak it in white vinegar to break up the varnish. You can clean it up with an old toothbrush and make sure that it is working. It should rattle when you shake it. new cartridges are not very expensive so you can just buy a replacement at any home center as well. If you are the original owner of the faucet Moen will send you a free replacement cartridge if you call them.

I have very little water press on the hot water side

Dis-assemble the faucet to get to the valve. The handle comes off and you access the valve from the top, usually by removing a screw on ring.

You will robably find contamination in the hot side of the valve.

You can find instructions on the Moen website.

Cold water works, hot does not

your problem can be fixed by running a loop in the plumbing. If you hired a professional in the first place it would already be done. basically the water pressure isn't enough, i bet your faucet is on the second or third floor, or even just THAT far from the water heater.

This needs a new cartridge and may only cost you a couple of bucks at your local plumbing store. If you do this yourself, just make sure you turn off the water to both the cold and the hot and you will probably just need a allen wrench, screw driver and maybe a cresent wrench.
