Question about Acomdata (HD250UE5-72) (HD250UE572) 250 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

Hi, hmm my external drive when i pllug it in no longer connects when ever i try to connect it to my computer. Is there anyway i can recover back all my files within my external drive ? Some people have recommended me to use active file recovery but i wasn't sure if i can recover all my files because they are all really important. Also i was just wondering for the active file recovery DEMO, it says that it can only recover 54kb, so does anyone know if that means that i can only recover 54kb and the demo program no longer works or does that mean that i can only recover 54kb each time ? thank you.

Hi there,
I believe that the demo will only recover 54kb because it only a demo.after that it may ask you to purchase the real active file recovery software.

if in doubt it would be a good idea to take down to a IT specialist and get done properly.A few dollars is worth spending on the recovery of lost Data, aye??

How do i recover data from my old LaCie 320gb External Hard Drive?

You MAY POSSIBLY be able to take the raw hard drive out of the case and connect it directly inside a desktop computer; it may be a standard ATA or SATA drive. If you can do that, transfer all the data to another hard drive (internal or external or network) directly.

Remove the hard drive and put it into an enclosure. Plug it into another computer as a slave. Then you can copy your files on it.
If it shows up in 'my computer' as a drive letter(like E: drive) but you can't access it, you can recover data from hard drive with data recovery program. This data recovery is a professional data recovery program that can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to drives crash, physical damage, system sabotage, virus attack etc. You can get it here:

My external hand drive started buzzing every couple seconds and now cant be recognized. Is there anyway I can fix this to recover 6 yrs of saved pictures and music

I have the same exact hard drive. At times, it can be detected. Sometimes, it can not.
Try to get another usb cable and wait a little longer for it to be recognized by the computer.
I waited for about 10 minutes before I can get access to my files.

Blank external hard drive

The trouble with external drives is sometimes in the interface board in the enclosure, and not with the drive. It's possible to open the case (not always easy, but possible!) and remove the drive, then connect it into another computer as an additional drive. If the drive itself is okay, you would be able to recover your data.

Partial format of WD 1TB external hard drive

Look on the Internet for a "file scavenger" program.
Compare it to reconstructing the table-of-contents of a book,
by reading each page & chapter of the last 93% of the book,
and recording what you found & where you found it.

You'll need another 1TB drive, if you find anything to "recover".

In this case you should use data recovery software to try recovering the files and data, provided those lost data are not fully overwrtten.

Be careful: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the external in case the original files are overwritten.

My Acomdata (HD250 UE5-72) external hard drive isn't working

The hard drive is probably faulty, how is the drive? if it uses a external powersupply the power adapter may have worn out and is not providing enough power for the drive to function.

Do you hear clicking from the drive?

A possible solution would be to remove the hard drive from the case, note that it may void your warranty if its still on warranty. And connect it to your computer directly to see if it functions.

Try connecting it to another computer. If you can see your data then back it up etc.
After you have recovered your data connect it to your computer, from Disk Manager, remove the partition, recreate it again and then format the drive, hopefully your external drive will be operational again.
There is a possibility that the hard disk has died and you will have lost your data. If you are desparate, hard drive data recovery companies charge an arm and a leg to recover data from dead drives.

Hi, John. First things first - do not take more photos and do not save anything back to the camera memory card. Then connect it to your PC. Pick a digital camera recovery (recover photos, video, music files) to make a free scan and recover the deleted photos. Regards
