Question about RCA L26W11 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
Most likely place to start checking is the power supply board or the inverter board if they are discrete boards.
Check fuses, they will be in the vicinity of where power enters the board(s) Then look for bulging capacitors- if you find any, replace with comparable values of same or slightly higher working voltage. And replace all in the vicnity of the failed caps. Use high ripple current types as the General purpose types you might buy at Radio Shack are just General Purpose and they do differ internally.
If those check out, or have been replaced and set still not functional, Look for resistors or diodes that are discolored (they may have failed). The power resistors are a good place to start as some double as fuses whether designed to or not.
If the set has a logged a few thousand hours and flickers, or shuts down after image begins to appear, the CCFL tubes are likely at the end of their life span as well.
