What steps have you gone through to test it are you just going of it installed in your car if so take it out and connect the red and yellow wire and put it to + on a battery and the black to - if it still dosnt come on does it make a clicking noise does the fan spin on the back
there are so many reasons as to why it dosnt work but you need to bench test it out of the car there is a fuse in the wiring it could be that the supressor is faulty you need a car battery if you get it working then the fault is in your car a blown fuse or something
let me know the exact problem once bench tested if the screen comes out or in but no lights or the unit is tottaly dead or what

Recheck all power connections! but my professional opinion is that it is the ground redo and problem most likely solved. Try running a ground wire from backside of radio where mount strap goes to a good ground (metal of car body)
Maybe it need a cleaning service. Firsth clean the laser lenss very carefully and after the mechanism complete. If the problem is not solved, possibly the optical pickup laser is damaged and need to be replaced.
your blue wire(power antenna) is connected to your factory amp. this wire only sends out audio when the radio is on(power antenna) disconnect this wire and hook up the blue/white instead problem solved Kieran
they make an adaptor kit, sold at radio shack-walmart- etc. that adapts a particular stereo to a particular model car. this will solve the problem.
without it you need wiring diagrams for both the car and the stereo or it can be a real pain.
You want to pick a frequency where there isn't an existing station, so the radio will have a clear signal from the dvd player.
If the DVD player only has a few frequencies to choose from, then tune the radio to each one (with the DVD player turned OFF) and see which one has the most static and the least signal from radio stations in your area.
If the DVD player can be set to any frequency, then just pick a frequency (usually down on the "88" side of the FM band) with the least local signal, then set your DVD player to use that frequency.

If you used the 2 plug nissan radio harness, there should be a blue wire on there which is the (power antenna) even if your car doesn't have a power antenna, this wire needs to be connect to power on the am/fm amplified ant which is used in many nissan cars.
if the jensen has a blue or a blue/white wire, connect it to one of those. if not, you can always connect it to the red ACC wire. that should solve your reception problem..
Thanks for responding.still have not solved it.its just my blaupunkt travelpilot E1 car radio.
can,t just enter destination postcode or street and house number so as to navigate me.
I want a free assistance.Thanks.
I got through to tech support. For problem of no audio from DVD or CD (can only hear radio), reverse the Blue wire (power antenna) and the Blue/White wire (external power amplifier). This should solve the problem.
sounds like you have the antenna wire connected to the power amplifer lead in the car.
Go behind the radio, there is a solid blue wire that will be connected to a wire in the car, take the solid blue wire off, and connect the blue/white from the radio to where the solid blue was originally connected. This should solve your problem
