Blackberry lcd screen replacement instructions

I recently dropped my phone off my deck and my screen now looks like a tie died mess!

There are white spots, stripes, solid color blocks...only an inch of my screen is clear and visible. I know that it is the internal LCD screen which is damaged because the outer screen doesn’t have a scratch or dent. I plan on replacing it myself but need a little guidance.

I am rather tech savvy, but on this matter I am lost! I don't want to damage the rest of the phone, even after the fall it has no real visible damage.

Can someone help!

Thanks!

Jazmin

Thanks for the help! But I am looking for instructions on replacing the screen. I have purchased the screen already and I am ready to tackle taking apart the phone and replacing the LCD.

    Thanks again!

This sounds like you have a broken lcd screen. If you feel comfortable with replacing the screen you can purchase a new screen off ebay.
If you are not comfortable I would recommend cellulardr.com they sound pretty reasonable as far as price goes.

I hope this helps

I dropped my blackberry 8520 and the screen has a line straight down the middle!!! i cant see anything..WHAT TO DO? the screen is white also

Sounds like you have a broken LCD screen. Somebody needs to open your blackberry to replace it. Go to your provider, they might replace the phone for you. If they refuse and If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry 8520 Repair Guide that shows how. Try to look for the Blackberry Javelin repair guide, it is very similar.

When i unlock my bold 9700 sometimes the display on the screen will be messed up. Shows a ghost set of icons on the home screen. Sometimes i'll try to type on the phone and the characters will be messed...

May I recommend ensuring you are running the most recent system software and firmware for your BlackBerry Bold 9700? This will ensure as many bugs as possible have been worked out of the phone you are using.

The latest BlackBerry Bold 9700 system software is available through here.

I dropped my blackberry bold 9700 and the screen is white what does this mean

I'm sorry, but the LCD is broken. The good news is that Blackberry Bold LCDs are fixable. You can do a mail order repair or find someone local to fix it. Inovagent can repair your Blackberry locally in the Washington DC/Baltimore area.

Dropped my phone and now the screen is white - its a blackberry pearl!

Sounds like you have a broken LCD screen. Go to your carrier, they might replace the phone for you altogether for free or at a discounted rate. If they refuse, the only way to get it up and running again is to open your blackberry2_bing.gif to physically replace the LCD screen. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry curve Repair Guide that shows how, the part is available on Ebay.

Sidekick II

It's on of two things.

They screen cable may have come loose. Has she dropped it recently?

The second may be that the LCD has died altogther.

You can disassemble and check to see if the cable is firmly in place. http://www.instructables.com/id/Sidekick-II-disassembly/

You will need a T6 torx driver or a small flat tip screwdriver that you can fit into the torx slot.

If the cable is secure, a new LCD should fix the issue. They run about 40 dollars on ebay.
