Something else was fried - judging by what you describe it appears that the deflection units no longer receive the synchro signal. This is caused by a malfunction in the jungle circuit, you will need to check all the voltages on the supply to make sure all are on and then the circuit itself.
Also check for the presence of the high tension on the tube.

My fuse blew in my Samsung 53" Plasma TV. I changed it, but it's blown again? What should I do next?

The fuse blown because theres a short circuit connection in the PCB power supply of your television. Please check the power supply inside, remove the back cover to see the power supply section.unplug first to avoid electric shock. Will you check the bridge type diode first. If the bridge type diode or diodes is shorted the fuse is always blown.Using digital tester check diodes, regulator transistor, and other transistor around the power supply.

You have a diode arrangement in your power supply that converts the AC power to DC power so that it can be stepped up to operate the high voltage power supply of the set. If those diodes are blown, which happens frequently in a storm, then you have no voltage to your high voltage. You are going to have to check that diode arrangement by making a continuity check both ways on each diode. A diode blocks voltage one way but lets it pass the other way, thus producing a DC voltage.

If you had TV on True surge protector and all other devices are still in the mix you should check out TV's power board for obvious damage or blown fuse(s).

56'' RCA WON'T POWER ON AFTER STORM

your tv may have a damaged circuit board - the only other cause might be a blown fuse, check the manual for fuse locations.

if that dosnt work you will likely be in need of a tv repair man.

NO POWER, Yes blown fuse.

Was this the 220 ohm in the power supply??? and if the 5 amp blew right away then it probably took out the bridge rectifyer with the power surge that comes alog with hurricane damage to the power lines as I used to live in florida and repaired lots of sets damaged from storms!! After you check the bridge rectifyers I would start looking to find any other shorts. First measure across the ac line with the fuse replaced but not plugedf in . If its shorted check what I mentioned before if its good after you replace the shorted parts you maybe in luck. need more assistance go to sams photo facts download a schematic and we will trouble shoot this together if you post it here so i can look at it. good luck
