Around track 8 in its recording process it breaks up the audio signal so when we duplicate it kick out a error then kicks out the CD's

this could be caued by a few possibilities you might not have select to burn an audio copy or the burning software does not support the burning of audio copies although if it burns a few before being interrupted it probably will support audio burning

the other possible reason might be the cd/dvd burner is not getting continuos power during the burn process
Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer

Close all open programs

This article contains tips for resolving sound related issues in Windows XP.
No Sound From all speakers
  • Check that the speakers are powered on.
  • Check that the speakers are connected to the correct ports on the PC. This is particularly important If the customer has both integrated sound and a sound card.
  • If the speakers have a volume control button - ensure that this is turned up.
  • Check that the Windows Audio service is running. If this is not running then many of the subsequent troubleshooting steps will not work. Go to Start->Run and type services.msc. Double cliick on Windows Audio. Select Start if possible and check that the Startup Type is Automatic. Click OK.
  • If the speakers are digital speakers then try forcing the sound card to use digital. Go to Start->Control Panel->Sound and Audio Devices.. On the Volume tab, click the Advanced button in the Device Volume section. In the Volume Control window, below the Play Control Volume slider, click Advanced. If this does not show select Advanced Controls from the Options menu. Select Digital Output Only
  • If possible try an external audio source like a Walkman, CD, or MP3 player (connect the speakers to the headphone jack)
  • Check that the volume control in Windows isn't muted or turned too low. See the screen shots below. Go to Start->Control Panel and double click on Sounds and Audio Devices.

You may have to delete the device in the "device manager" and reinstall it with the laptop restore disk or download the latest drivers from the Toshiba site for laptops.
Also this DVD-RW may not like +R disks or +/_ Disk . It may only like -R disk.

The volume won't work anymore, it says the audio device supported by this application is not detected, the application will exit. was working grand yesterday

Hi,
it,s saying the audio Device used by this Application ( Program )
Is not detected.
The problem most likely is with the program i.e media-Player, Cyberlink Power DVD Et,c.
uninstall and re-install your Audio/Music Application.
Also check the devices/Drivers are not corrupt or not installed.

Can't burn DVD but can burn cd

There is a possibility that the laser of the optical drive is not functioning anymore to write dvd. This is what you have to do.

Click on Start
Click Run
Type regedit and press OK
Registry Editor windows will come up
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
CLass
{4d36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

on the right hand side, delete "Upper FIlters" and "Lower Filters" you may see on it. Everything that has something to say on upper and lower filters.

Close the Registry Editor and then Click on START, right click on My Computer and then select Properties.

Go to Hardware Tab and click on Device Manager
click on the (+) sign of the cd/dvd rom and right click on the item below and select Uninstall.

Close everything and restart your computer and try burning a dvd

***remember to use burning software since windows XP explorer could not simply burn data using the Explorer it self.

My sound on my HP Pavillion Entertainment PC doesnt work anymore

Try downloading this (The audio driver)
If that does not work, go to control panel and to "Audio devices and sound themes", Right-click on a empty spot in the window that pops up, and choose "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconncted devices", if you see a icon that is called internal speakers or speakers..something similar. You have to right-click it, and choose Use as default.

Try to remove it under device manager and restart the laptop. If the same problem occurs, the driver for the CD rom isn't installed yet. Better call the Acer tech support for possible part replacement.
