I need my computer back to the way it was when I bought it do I do a clean installation

laptop model is aspire 5570 Z with a Z zee instead of 2 two

First, BACKUP WHAT YOU WANT!!!!! IT WILL BE GONE WHEN YOU FINISH!!!!! If you cannot get to your files, start in safe mode and collect them. if you cannot get to safe mode. grab a linux live cd, such as knoppix, you can boot a whole linux os from cd without installing and retrieve your files VIRUS FREE!!!!! once you feel you have backed up what you want to keep follow these insructions.

    • 1 Reboot your computer. As the computer comes on, click the "F2" key on your keyboard. This will activate the BIOS utility screen.
    • 2 Locate the Acer disk-to-disk recovery system on the first screen of BIOS and click the box to enable it. This will allow you to reset the computer without a recovery disk. Save your settings and exit BIOS per the instructions on the screen.

    • 3 Restart the computer.
    • 4 Press "ALT + F10" on your keyboard as soon as the Acer logo appears on the screen.
    • 5 Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a system recovery and reset the computer to the factory default settings.

A disk read error occured press ctrl +alt+del to restart now i cannot start my laptop! tq.

Have you tried repeatedly pressing f8 when you turn it on? This should produce a screen asking you if you want to start the pc in safe mode. If you're able to get to this point choose "safe mode with command prompt". Hopefully you will be able to boot into windows at this time. Once inside the command prompt, type 'chkdsk' in order to scan your hard drive for errors. If you're not able to get to this point, chances are that you have one or more bad sectors on your hard drive that is preventing you from booting.

In this case you have a couple of options. If you or someone you know is tech-savvy enough to hook up your hard drive to another pc you can try running chkdsk on the faulty drive from there, otherwise purchasing a new hard drive will be in order, but this not only means you'll lose your all of your data on that drive (unless you try one of the data recovery options available...they are usually very expensive though, so I'd only do this if you absolutely need data from your old drive), but that you'll also have to install (and possibly purchase) a version of windows to install on it....good luck! :)

Safewell safe EX2007316659 batteries dying and can't open

I have had zero success in finding out any information about various models of electronic safes--no manufacturers' website, no online manuals, etc. Many of these safes are imported from overseas manufacturers.
Dead or dying batteries is a common problem, and I gather that many models of safes come with an override key.
It is incredible how many people have found the best place to keep their override keys and/or instruction manuals is INSIDE their safe!
I ask that anyone with owner's manuals or instruction sheets please publish them on this website for the benefit of others, but that is unlikely as they aren't the ones seeking information--they already have it!
Sorry I can't be of more help!

Acer aspire will not turn on or charge

Hello bperez28,

There are 3 possible reasons for that problem.

1. Battery is dead or is not seated properly. Try removing the battery from your laptop and then replace it back. If the battery is dead, it will not charge anymore. If it is still under warranty, ask for a replacement.

2. Charger is malfunctioning. Try to plug it into a different know working plug outlet. You might need to replace the charger with a new one.

3. Motherboard issue. Needs servicing.

You need trial and error to know exactly which of those is the reason why your Laptop is malfunctioning. Try a different charger/battery BEFORE buying one.

Need factory settings aspire 5920

Laptop computers can be wonderful devices, except when the need to troubleshoot arises. Acer laptops are no different. A quick way to fix many problems with an Acer laptop running Windows is to reset it to factory settings. Resetting your Acer laptop to factory settings can eliminate slow operating, registry problems, virus problems, spyware issues and more. And a factory reset of your laptop may reduce the need for a full reinstallation of Windows.

1.Back up all necessary data to an external device such as a disk, flash drive or hard drive

2.Make sure all programs are closed and shut down your Acer laptop by opening your Start menu and selecting "Shut Down" from the options for shutting down and restarting windows.

3.Detach any external hardware such as an external hard drive or printer.

4.Press the Power button to boot your Acer laptop.

5.Press "Alt + F10" on your keyboard when the Acer screen appears at the start of the boot up process. Wait a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

6.Select "Restore System from factory default" in the Acer eRecovery Management window.

7.Click "Next" on the next screen to continue. Click "Next" on the following destination information window. This will pop up a notice telling you that resetting your Acer laptop will erase all data and restore the laptop to its original settings and configuration.

8.Click "OK" in the notice window to proceed with resetting your Acer laptop.

9.Wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.
