Question about Sony PRS-505

Open Question

Even after wiping off all the books, reloading them, and reseting many times, I'll be reading and the 505 restarts about every half hour. When it restarts it freezes first and I have to remember my page number because when it starts again my reading history is gone. Is there a battery I can replace? I don't want to buy the newer version because I love having the left and right hand page turning capability.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

does it means the upper part of the screen still displays? If yes, then it means the screen for your Sony PRS 300 as gone bad or defective. In this case, I think you would be needing a screen replacement.

The problem now is getting a screen replacement. Online stores does not have a replacement screen for this unit. But I would suggest contact Sony via e-mail or phone, and as for the screen replacement of this Sony PRS 300. They might have it or direct you specifically to a dealer where you can get the screen.

Go to Sony's website, click on "Contact us" and you would find their phone number and or e-mail address there.

Good luck.

Tanya, Reset will not help you because the error you are getting is of the hardware in nature rather than of software... It seems that the bus which connects the motherboard and screen or the screen itself is malfunctioning... Therefore get it serviced...
Hope this has helped you.. Thanks...

I have a 2007 Suzuki XL7 is it true that after disconnecting battery over a week, you have to reset computer

Usually, disconnecting the battery for more than half an hour will reset almost all computers. It will then have to go through a "re-learn" cycle. You'll use more gas until it does that and it may not run quite right.

My Paperwhite is the original. I read about 1 hour per day. It holds the charge good.

First, if you have not done it in a while, restart your device. Press and hold the power button for several seconds until you get the option to Restart. Often just restarting any device will resolve many issues.

If you have a lot of books, etc., on the device, go through and remove what you do not need. For good measure, Restart again after deleting a bunch of stuff.

Finally, you could try a Reset. This deletes everything so you have a clean slate. On a Kindle this is not as drastic as it sounds. Although you do not have to, I would De-register the device before doing a reset. You will probably have to re-register anyway. De-registering may avoid some confusion later. Also, if you have documents or material other than books, make sure you can access it again somewhere or back it up before the reset. REMEMBER, DOING A RESET WIPES OUT ALL CONTENT. The device will be just as you received it initiall. To reset:
From Home, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
Tap the Menu icon again, and then tap Reset Device. Your Kindle will restart.

Hope some of this helps.

My son forgot the code of his samsung omnia hd i8910 1 want to reset the settings but i cant because of that code

    • Open the telep *2767*3855# - Factory reset hone dialler by pressing the software button on the bottom left of the front screen.
    • Type *#7370#
    • You'll be asked if you want to restore all of the original settings and warned that the phone will restart. Choose yes.
    • Now you'll be asked to enter the lock code. Enter 00000000 as the code. That's eight zeros.
    • Click the OK button and the phone will reset. This takes some time so be patient.
Occasionally you'll find yourself in a situation where you can't use the screen and therefore can't use this process to reformat a phone. In that case you'll need to do the following.
    • Pull the battery to make sure it's powered off correctly then replace it.
    • Hold down the green call button and the middle button at the same time.
    • With those two buttons held down, press the red power on button.
    • The phone should give you the option to format now and you can press the green key to accept it.
Be aware that the phone memory and the hard drive will all be wiped clean so back up anything you need to keep either to a PC or to a memory card. Don't forget to remove the memory card before the reset as some memory cards may also be occasionally wiped in this process.

I need my gmail account acitvated

If you're sure about your username - click on Can't access your account? under the login box.Check the first option "I don't know my password" and you'll be asked for an email where your login details/reset password instruction to be sent. You'll have to answer few questions (like security questions and contact details you've set when registering).

Its a bit tricky, but whole process is less than half an hour even if it fail first time

My HTC hd7 keeps on rebooting

HD7 is powered by a qualcomm SoiC Snapdragon chipset. It's basically a large chip containing the cpu/video processing and input output functions. The same chip is used in the HD2 and has been known to cause some problems.
I'll make an assumption and ask you to try something.
Please find some hd movies and place them on the phone memory, then try continuously running them. Before starting this test, measure the room temperature. If you have .. let's say 25 degrees celsius (or equivalent fahrenheit) make a note, writing down the room temperature at witch you started the experiment. Run the movies continuously untill the phone either freezes or restarts. When the phone does that, write down the time elapsed since you started and stop using the phone for about half hour.
Next place the phone in a transparent bag, try to seal it and put it in the fridge (not freezer) for half hour. Open the freezer, and run the same movies again WHILE keeping the phone cool in the fridge. Check to see if you notice any improvements in the time elapsed until a restart. If you do, please reply here and i'll explain what actually happens with the phone and what is the real problem with it (it could get a little..technical).

PS you can use any cpu demanding app instead of movies, let's say 3d games, navigation apps etc.

I am having no luck finding a decent owners manual for my 82 Sabre

Both Clymer and Haynes printed comprehensive guides to the Honda Sabre. I have generally had better experience with the Clymer over Haynes manuals for motorcycles (though I flip the other way when it comes to automobile guides), but I have examples of both in shop manual collection. You can check out the Clymer guide at:

The Haynes guide can be seen at:

Used copies of these manuals can be found for dramatically less money on and eBay, if not even from other online booksellers. You shouldn't expect to pay full retail price for one of these.

You'll have a harder time finding the original owner's manual that came with your Sabre. A number of bike recyclers keep stocks of old manuals for sale, but many of these are lost or discarded by their owners long before a bike ever reaches a scrapyard. I don't get a lot of information out of the basic owner's manuals, so I don't consider their loss a big problem.

As a final thought, if you go to your Honda dealer, you can purchase the official Honda shop manual for this bike. It will be expensive, and it may only be available on microfiche at this point (some are now available on CD-ROM), but that will give you access to the same documentation that official Honda techs use at the dealerships.

I have charged my sony e readerPRS - 505. However

Connect the Reader to the Computer using the supplied USB cable and check whether it is charging,. If it's charging , then keep it connected from at least 4 hour to get it fully charged. If its fully charged, perform a soft reset. To soft reset, just press the RESET button. After soft6 resetting charge it for at least 4 hours., That should resolve the issue. All the best! !
