Could you please clarify what other items it has listed for the sound you are experiencing?

Is the sound somewhat of a beep or tone sound? Or is the sound an intermittent burst, like someone is transmitting to the unit, somewhat like what you would get when it picks up a sound on the other end?

How do i turn off the bleep?

There are three functions on that unit that cause some kind of beep.
one in the tone when you first turn telling you it's working.
Then there is the one that cobra refers to as the 'Talk Confirmation Tone' telling the other person it's ok to talk.
The third will only be sent if you do it intentionally, that's the call alert tone.
You have absolutely no way to disable those first two functions as they are hard coded into the handheld memory.
These are made to be ......... proof and are just a marginal step forward in technology from the tin cans and string.

How to Shut off Scrambler on Cp100

1) Hold in the PTT and the Monitor button at the same time. Continue to hold them in while turning on the radio.
2) Continue holding them in until the long bleeping sound stops.
3) Release the buttons.
4) Pressing the menu button will walk you through programming. Be careful not to change any settings you do not want changed. Your first press will show the frequency, next press will be code.
5) Continue pressing until you see a zero (aught) with a slash, this is the place to set scramble.
6) Using your plus or minus button change the number on the screen to be a zero (off).
7) Then press the menu button again. This will lock in your setting.
8) Continue pressing the menu button until the beep you hear is different, a little higher pitch. You are then done programming, shut off the radio and turn back on normally. Your scramble is shut off.

Note: Along the way when you see the word Hi or Lo, this is in reference to the FCC narrowband mandate in the USA. If you are in the USA this setting should be LO (narrowband).

I have binatone 100 walkie talkies. they have power to them but we cannot talk into them, they just keep bleeping when we try and talk. any suggestions?

  • Have you checked your batteries? This radio will not transmit with to low of batteries but it will beep every 15 seconds or so. This radio utilizes AAA batteries.

  • The other thing this could be is your pressing "Call" rather than "Talk." That's called "call paging tone." So make sure you press the "Talk" button when you want to transmit your voice because if you press "Call" you will only send a 2 second beep.

Regards, Tony

How do you remove the batteries from the walkabout 250

The U shaped sides of the radio are connected to the back of the radio. This section of the radio is usually black in color. Pull down on the sides and the whole piece will slide off the radio exposing the battery compartment.

Best regards.

Motorola T5210 does not receive

Are you sure that the radios share the same sub audible tone? Look at your owner manual for the section dealling with (and different people call it different things) ie: CTCSS, DCS, Private tone, code...etc... make sure that the tones are the same on both radios... this is usually the smaller number on the display.
