Question about Nikon COOLPIX S6000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Hello, I have a Nikon Coolpix S6000. It has worked well until this evening when I attempted to erase multiple selected images from the camera. It then froze for a minute and when I got it running again it gives me an error message saying "This card cannot be read". I've been using this memory card for months with no problems, and my computer can still read all of the images. Is the problem with the camera or the card?

    Hello,

Thanks for the advice! I tried to format the card on my computer but it says that it cannot reformat it. I've tried reformatting in the camera as well, but when the card is in the camera it doesn't allow me to use any of the camera functions. It only displays the error message. I think I just need a new card...

Scratched lens on nikon digital s6000

The only fix is to replace the entire optical assembly: an expensive repair which is not usually cost effective.

If the damage is cosmetic only and does not show on most images then ignore it. If it does show then you can probably remove the damage in post-processing using tools like clone stamp or the healing brush in Photohop. Even if you don't have that particular program, there are many other free/cheap alternatives with similar functions.

The only other option will be to make an accidental damage claim if the camera is insured, but given that you can still buy them brand new for as little as £70 now from some outlets, your insurance policy excess (US=deductible) will likely make a claim not worth pursuing.

I recived the Nikon Coolpix S6000 in December. It has been working fine up until today. It will not turn on.. I have charged (which the light does show its charging), removed and reinserted the battery. I...

Have you tried checking if the battery door is completely shut and flush with the body of the camera? Try cleaning the contacts where the batteries touch and make sure that there isn't any dust or dirt obstructing the plates. If your camera still doesn't turn on, the battery has probably short-circuited or fried. You can easily order another one for under $10 via Amazon here:
Good luck.

Hi, usually caused by a lens jam or sand/debris getting into the lens mechanism. Lens

A newly bought camera is not necessarily fully charged. Read instructions about first charging. Enjoy your camera.
