Question about Watches

My wireless weather station projection clock needed new batteries and when I took them out, I lost the time zone setting (Eastern) and can not find any way to change it back. It is now Pacific Coast time so my clock is always three hours behind. I have no instructions. Can you help please?

It is a Brookstone clock and doesn't have a mode button or + and - buttons. The four buttons on the front are Time, up and down arrows, and an Alarm button.

This is a Brookstone clock/weather station with projection. Made in China. Says Remote Thermostat BAR338PA. Have had it for 2 or 3 years. The front buttons read Clock, Up and Down arrows, and Alarm. No Mode button. I remember that it was initially difficult to set from Pacific Coast time zone to Eastern but I finally got it. This time I have no instruction manual to refer to. Thanks.

Thank you! You gave me the answer I needed and lead me to the instruction manual which I printed out and have now for future use. Very satisfied. Thumbs up!

    Hi cdusseau,

The zone buttons are located inside the battery compartment.

I found a manual for you to download. Copy and paste this web address into your browser: >>>>http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005B... <<<<

Scroll down past the picture to the section titled "Product Details". The first item will be the owner's manual. Click on it and the document will download in pdf format.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

    Handie Andie

If you have the Wireless Weather Projection Clock with Light Detector by Honeywell, here are the instructions for changing the time zone:

1. Press MODE to select the time with the day of week display mode.
2. Select the time zone by pressing and holding the "+ " button for 3 seconds.
3. Keep holding until the desired time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern) is selected on the display map.

If you have a different brand of Wireless Weather Projection Clock, let me know the brand and I will tell you how to change the time zone.

At the batteries compartment the small "zone'' button is for changing between 4 US time-zones of Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern. Here is an image:

Clock is 2 hours ahead of actual cst time

If you have an atomic clock/watch that is not showing the right time, you could have one or two separate problems. First, the clock may not be set for the correct time zone. Second, the clock may have a manual switch to adjust the time for daylight savings time. Each of these problems can make your clock display the incorrect hour of the time, especially after you change the batteries and your clock "forgets" some or all of its prior settings.
Check the back of your clock to see if there is a button or switch to set the correct time zone. If your clock appears to be set to your time zone, change the switch to another time zone and see whether the clock moves forward/backward to adjust. Once it has finished adjusting to the new time zone, adjust the clock back to your time zone to see whether it will now correctly reset to display the time.
I have seen atomic clocks that have manual adjustments for these settings as well as ones that adjust automatically other than the time zone. If you provide the manufacturer and model number of your clock, we should be able to provide more detailed instructions.

Silicon scientific atomic projection clock did no reset for daylight saving. Help

I have one of these, and look for the manual on the 'Net every time DST changes, and eventually figure it out. Here's how: (1) Hold down the ALM/SET button until you get past the alarm setting and you see 24H or 12H. (2) Step through the settings by pushing the ALM/SET button, changing each as desired by pressing the +/CYCLE button. Eventually you'll wind up with the time zone indication flashing (it's really tiny, and appears just below the time indication). Press the +/CYCLE until you get to the desired time zone. (3) After the screen quits flashing, press the -/DST button to get the desired setting. I hope this helps, and that I can find this post again next time change!

This watch will set itself at specific time set times, this is likely to be at 0200 0400 and 0600.
You will however be required to set the time zone, the switch is likely to be on the back.

The "mode" button is there to change the function of the + & - buttons.

If you press the mode button several times you will cycle through the various setting features of the clock.

Look for the one that sets the time zone and use the + or - buttons to select your zone.

Some experimentation may be required!

Acu-rite atomic clock squeaks periodically, why?

I had the exact same problem, and found the answer on the Chaney Instrument FAQ page. There's no real solution, but here is the explanation:
Q: My wireless weather station periodically beeps, why?
A: Make sure that any alert and/or alarm features are deactivated first. Constant, sporadic beeping is generally due to the unit’s ability to detect a foreign radio frequency of another wireless unit when that unit transmits a signal. Wireless devices that may cause beeping but are not limited to these devices are; scanners; computers w/wireless keyboard/mouse; or other wireless weather instruments. Essentially, any wireless devices transmitting on a radio frequency have the potential to interfere with each other. Limit the amount of wireless devices to lesson the chance of interference. When beeping occurs, one device will need to be deactivated.

How do I set a LaCrosse WT-961 (B) watch?

This watch automatically sets itself. I you live in the eastern time zone, you just have to wait for the watch to receive the signal then it will set itself to the correct time & date. The signal is strongest at night between the hours of 10:00 pm & 2:00 am so it normally takes over night to set. Sometimes the weather interferes with the signal so I tell people to give them a couple of days to pick up. Also if you are having trouble receiving the signal try placing the watch by a window. If you do not live in the eastern time zone try these instructions:

Hold down the button for 2 seconds until the time zone abbreviation & zone flash the keep pressing the button until your correct time zone is displayed. Then wait about 8 seconds for the watch to return to normal display. Then you just have to wait until it picks up the signal & sets itself. I hope this helps.
