Gaggenau GM 915-710 UC6 dishwasher will not fill and wash. Close the door, turn lever. Empties water from sump. (drain hose was not clamped above disposal outlet nipple, fixed that) Machine empties sump, but will not stop after sump is dry. Will not initiate fill and wash. Manually stop machine. Can't get control board to do the diagnostic to get an F #. Pressing button 1 and 3 at the same time. A couple of the plastic tabs on the circuit boards plastic support housing that link the stainless cycle selection buttons on the face, to the circuit board's push switches have been broken for several years. Means we haven't been able to access the various cycle choices. Pretty irrelevant to us, and I doubt it is related to the fill/ start issue, as this is a new problem

i suspect you are hearing the drain pump working due to the antoflood being actuated.
remove the bottom front panel and bottom tray is exposed and it is probably full of water. mop water out and machine will work. if fault reoccurs, then you have a leak

SOURCE: gaggenau dishwasher is not draining

The drain pump may be partially blocked. Carefully unscrew it from the frams and remove the drain hose. Then you can look into the pump to see if it is clear. Good luck to you.

Dishwasher starts program, then few mins in pause/start button flashes "insufficient water supply". Checked all hoses and all clear. Anyone? Thank you. Glen

As soon as the waser begins the wash cycle pause, open door record water level in sump.

Close door and continue cycle until machine faults and stops.

Open door, record water level in sump.

Compare before and after. If level is low that the flapper valve that allows the water to drain is stuck open and the water is draining into the sink as the unit is washing.

To confirm, if the washer drain hose is connect to the neck of the disposal or sink drain, observe the drain after restarting the wash cycle from the beginning. If water is trickling out from the dishwasher while it is washing then it is confirmed the drain door is not closed if equipped with that configuration.

All washers have a process and hardware to drain. Some have a sepperate drain pump

Hope thisd helpd?

Bosch shu8805 (2002 model)

HI,

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:

Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses
Main tub seal Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

  • Lower rack

  • Spray arm

  • Spray arm support

  • Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

Ken more dishwasher won't drain

First of all, close the door and press Cancel. (Or if your dishwasher has the controls that are hidden under your counter ledge when you close the door, then press Cancel first and then close the door. Do you hear anything? Is the drain pump trying to run? If so, then start at your garbage disposal and work backwards. If you got a new garbage disposal installed, make sure that you (or the installer) remembered to knock out the hard-plastic plug at the end of the dishwasher connector port. Also make sure you don't have a clog right there. If that's okay, then check the drain hose (or air-break, if you have one) for clogs. If that's okay, then the next most likely suspect is the drain pump, but it may not be bad; there could just be something hard (a foreign piece of plastic or glass) stuck in the check valve or stuck in the pump itself that is keeping the impeller from turning. In either case you will have to remove the drain pump to fix or replace it. But first either siphon the water out of the sump area or use a wet vac to suck out the water from the sump area. Then you can remove the end of the drain hose and check there. If that's okay, you can remove the drain pump by finding and pressing on the release button or lever, and turning it 1/8 turn counter-clockwise, If there's an obstruction, you will find it now. If no obstruction, then replace the drain pump.

Hotpoint Built-In Dishwasher HDA3600DWWmy dish

there is an electronic solenoid near where the drainhose connects to the sump that changes the waterflow direction from recirculate(washing), to evacuate (draining). this is electronically controlled by the timer. you can test the power leads at the solenoid for voltage when it sould be draining. if none then the timer is faulty. if there is voltage then the solenoid is faulty. if the solenoid is engageing, then the water diverter is faulty. if the water diverter is broken, replace the dishwasher.
overflowing is another problem of its own. the water level float/ sensor is not working and could be caked with detergent. work the float from the inside of the dishwasher, it should move freely. if so, then there is a switch connected to the float on the underside. test it with an ohmmeter. if bad replace it. if it is an electronically timed water level control then it could be a problem with the timer as well, but with hotpoint they are usually manual.

Diswasher will not drain

Clean the drain hose screen and look for debris where the hose connects to the washer. Clean as necessary. Remove the front access panel from the washing machine and locate the drain pump. Remove the screw clamp and clean out any debris that may be causing an obstruction.

Clean the sump hose that is connected to the trap cup and reassemble. Close the front access panel.
Restore power and press "Drain/Spin" to remove any remaining water from the tub.

Hope helps.

Water does not drain, how do I access the pump

Hi jolanda03,

Remove the Top Panel, fastened by 2 screws at the back, Then remove the right Side Panel, you should see the Drain Pump attached to the sump. To test it, you could attach direct power to the two pins on it (Alternating current, so position of connectors unimportant). If it works, it could be either that it is not receiving power from the PC Board, or the sump is clogged inside (Filter).

Hope this helps, if it did please rate with 4 thumbs up. A testimonial would be nice too. :-)

Westinghouse Dishwasher 905,prewash light keeps flashing and wont start to next cycle.Turn it on it makes the pump noise then the light just flashes.Help please.

Gary Miller was closest. You can also try this:
After the outlet hose has drained, open the dishwasher door and blow hard into the outlet hose (try not to get any gunk in your mouth! I usually put my hand in between the hose and my mouth.
You will find a bit of resistance then it should clear. Remove the filter (the one you remove and clean after every wash) and see if there is any gunk in the sump. Remove what you can by drawing the water out as best you can and using a rag to remove the gunk. Close the door and see if it tries to fill. Let it fill for a while until there is some water in the sump. Do the blow through the outlet hose trick again to see if it has cleared.
If you ket the dishwasher drain via the outlet hose, any gunk in the hose will end up clogging it again.
