Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I was using my Toshiba L455 when I was prompted that updates with my widows 7 were available. After the auto shut down my leds in the front left of laptop light up (charger, batery and power) the fan comes on but the computer will not boot. THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE SCREEN AND I CANNOT GET TO THE BIOS TO RESET TO FACTORY. I've tried unpluging the charger, removing the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds and then I tried holding it upside down with not battery and charger and held the power button for 60 seconds then put the charge in held the power button for another 30 seconds and put the battery in while holding the power button but my lap top will still not come on. Again this occurred after a windows update and its almost like the computer is sleeping or in hibernate. Please help!

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive boot up

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?
one bad lead will end with a computer error a computer needs its connections continue its cycle and have an end to function properly

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer and before you touch anything be sure to wear an earth strap you might also check the ram make sure its securely seated and the cmos battery

hope this helps

Why does my computer automatically shut itself down on the same day each week.

There are a couple possibilities...first, when you say shut down, do you mean that it restarts, or it actually shuts completely off? Windows update will auto-run weekly and restart the system if necessary. Otherwise, I'd suspect something with your antivirus scanner settings.

How to reset the default value for the toshiba sd 6100 dvd player

If you want HDMI 'Auto' mode (the factory default), you need a combination of selecting the proper output mode (use the remote's 'Progressive' button to toggle between the four output modes: HDMI, RCA VGA, component video out and s-video. Once you're in HDMI mode (the led's on the front of the box are a dead give-away!), then you can press the front panel 'HDMI Select' button to move through the five available HDMI settings: 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P and 'Auto'. You're in 'Auto' mode when all four led's are lit.
