Question about Maytag PYE2300AY Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I have a loud noise coming from the bottom right side of my dryer. I am trying to figure out how to open the cabinet up to see what the actual problem is but I can not tell how to open it. There seems to be screws holding everything together. Is there an easy way to get in there? When I roll the drum it makes a clunking noise every few inches of the turn. It is a PYE2300AYW.

Samsung refrigerator loud noise

if the fan is still running when you open the door , the I would be leaving that idea as a last resort
try this
get 2 taper door chocks and put one either side at the back of the fridge
push the cabinet sideways and slip one chock in a bit then do the other side
many noises are from the bottom plate that the compressor is mounted on from tapping on the floor and lifting it a bit stops the noise
the same as when you open the door the pressure on that plate is removed and so it stops hitting the floor

the pulley may be going is out. Remove the back cover and check to see if the noise is coming from there. If so, they are easily replaced.

New GE Profile Dryer makes intermittent loud squeeking or rubbing

Your drum may be out of round. The drum belt on the outside of the drum may be rubbing against the cabinet. When the cabinet heats up, the side walls of the cabinet may be bowing inward, thus making contact with the belt on the drum. This would explain why it is intermittant. When the heater turns off, the cabinet cools and the sides bow back out.

I have a Matag Dryer Model MDE8057AYW, hopw do you remove the cover to access the dryer in order to determine a noise.

Disconnect power to the unit.
Remove the 4 opposed phillip screws inside the door opening lip (2 in the hinge, and 2 on the opposite side. Lift the door slightly and slide the hinges out of the slots on the cabinet. Grasp the cabinet front right at the strips near the top 2 vacant screw holes. twist it from the inside out while pulling forward. Once it is angled out, lift it off the clips at the bottom.
Reverse the process to reassemble.

Dryer making squeaking noise

IF YOU CANNOT SEE AN OBVIOUS WAY TO OPEN THIS, SUCH AS SCREWS AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PANEL OR AT THE TOP OF THE DOOR INNER RIM OR BY REMOVING A BACK PANEL 2'X2' THEN CHANCES ARE THAT THE TOP WILL POP UP AT THE EDGES IN FRONT BETWEEN THE TOP AND FRONT PANEL. FROM THERE LOOK INSIDE THE FRONT PANEL AND SEE IF THERE ARE A HEX HEAD SCREW OH ABOUT 3 INCHES DOWN HOLDING THE FRONT TO THE CABINET IF THERE IS REMOVE THEM AND DOOR SWITCH WIRES AND LIFT FRONT PANEL UP AND OUT. WITHOUT THE MODEL NUMBER THIS AN EDUCATED GUESS. IF I WAS RIGHT FROM THERE I THINK YOU CAN GO THE REST OF THE WAY AND THE SQUEAING NOISY SHOULD BE THE BEARING IN THE REAR OR THE DRUM ROLLERS. GOODLUCK TO YA

What is the noise coming from my dryer?

your bearing is going out, basically there are two types , look on the back center of unit ad see if there's a bearing screw or something (actually the bearing screws in from the inside , but screws are visible ) this is a center bearing type, the other is a glide system front glides and rear rollers are what carries the drum weight i have seen rollers go out and the drum actually scraping a hole in the side of the cabinet.
