Sometimes the housing gets bent slightly. A lot of the housings have little taps or prongs that get slightly bent. I would take the housing off make sure it not bent or warp, to make sure there is nothing to block the free flow of then cord flowing. If it pulls fine with housing off, and hangs up when installed it slightly bent. Use small needle nose pliers and gently bend tabs away from area where cord is hanging up.

Can a pull cord be replaced on a briggs & stratton 2300 psi gas pressure washer

yes take the top cowling cover off that houses the pull start normaly 4 to 6 bolts around the lower edge of this & you can pick this cord up from most diy stores or tool rentle firms just be carefull when the cowling is off that the cord spool/pully will most likely be under spring pressure unless the cord as broken completley hope this helps

Excell vr2522 pull cord jammed

Is the garden hose connected and turned on?If so make sure that the trigger on the gun is being pulled while your trying to start the engine! The backed up pressure in the high pressure hose can mimic a blown or seized engine in this situation.

Im trying to start but it wont start....whats does it mean to flood it out! i borrowed from friend and he says he used it 2 days ago and it started just fine.

flood it out means that there is too much unburnt gas in the cylinder. the spark plug is probably wet with gas. simple fix though. just pull the spark plug out, pull the cord on the engine a few times and let everything set untill the gas evaporates. then put the plug back in and try to start it. easy with the choke or it will happen again.

I cant pull the cord in my pressure washer it feels like it stuck thiere is no pressure in it it wont pull

Take the sparkplug out and see if you can pull the cord then. If fuel comes out of the sparkplug hole the carburetor is leaking gasoline in to the engine filling up the cylinder causing the lockup. The carb has to be rebuilt. Another problem mice like to build nests around the flywheel which will prevent the engine from turning over. You have to remove the recoil housing and if there is a nest clean it out using a screwdriver or use a compressor to blow the mess out.

If you trying to pull the starter to start it doesn't pull out

Hi, sometimes the recoil rope gets a little tangled inside the housing if the cord is allowed to snap back after pulling. You need to undo the screws that hold the recoil on the motor and inspect the rope inside. If you cannot pull the rope freely while it is detached, then the problem lies with the recoil. In this case try to find the tangled cord and undo it. Test that the coil works before reinstalling it. It should work fine. If you pull the recoil while it's detached and it moves freely, then the problem lies with the engine itself. This would indicate a seizure and requires a complete tear-down and rebuild. Good luck.

Gas powered pressure washer wont start

On pressure washers the more you pull the cord the more pressure builds up making it difficult to pull and start. I hold the trigger down as i pull this keeps the pressure down. If this is not the problem then take a look at the Spark plug, Air Filter if all is fine then check the fuel. How often do you use it, fuel loses its Octane when sitting around. Please give a 4 THUMBS UP if this free answer is helpful in anyways. Good Luck and have a Great Day.

Pullstart wont pull

sometimes the float in the carb can stick causing the gas to fill the engine, this will prevent the engine from moving and therefore locking the pull cord. check the oil, is there gas in the oil? remove the spark plug and try to pull the cord again. gas may come out of the plug hole . if this is the problem you must change the oil and fix the carb. the other cause could be that the engine is seized. ouch.

I hope this helps

Motor seems to be locked up!!!!!!!!

It may be your engine, but it may also be the water pressure. Try this: Hold the trigger down while pulling the recoil starter. This acts as an unloader for the pressure washer, and may allow the engine to turn over. There is also an oil level in the pump as well as the engine. Check both levels.
Just a thought, but I've been there. Best regards, W/D
