Question about Pioneer 7DVDP18X Burner
A) The optical eye in the optical drive, (DVD burner) may be dirty. Use a cleaner disk made for this purpose, or a can of compressed air for computers. (Computer off, and unplugged from power)
B) The optical drive may be at the end of it's 'Life Cycle'. This is a mechanical device, and they are rated in hours of usage.
DVD burners are relatively inexpensive, and easy to install, should you find yours is at the end if it's life cycle.
If you would like recommendations, and/or a step by step in replacing the drive, please post in a Comment.
I purchased a Lite-On unit from a large chain store that begins with a W over 5 years ago.
Cost approximately $45. Had I have had patience I could have ordered it online for $28 plus shipping.
These units are rated with the same features as units that cost 3 to 5 times as much, and have the same quality.
(Still works great after 5 years, knock on wood. Tapping head right now, lol!)
