Hello viz. go to the hardware store and get some teflon tape for plumbing applications. Wrap the threads with enough teflon tape to get the secure and drip free fit you desire. joe

How do I change the fuel valve on 2003 road king

Turn the handle of the fuel valve to OFF, THEN using a side cutters, cut clamp and remove hose from fuel outlet fitting at the front of the fuel valve and drain the free end of hose into a suitable container, THEN remove the elbow of the intake manifold vacuum tube from its fitting on the inboard side of the fuel valve, attach a length of fuel hose long enough to reach a suitable gasoline container to the fuel outlet fitting, turn the handle of the fuel valve to RES(ERVE), THEN using the correct hose adapter, connect the Mity-Vac® Hand Pump (HD-23738A) or similar to the vacuum fitting (To avoid damage to the diaphragm of the fuel valve, do not apply a vacuum greater than 25 inches of Mercury(Hg) to the vacuum fitting.), gently apply a vacuum of 1-10 inches of Mercury (Hg) to the vacuum fitting to get a good flow of gasoline through the valve, when the fuel tank is completely empty remove the vacuum pump from the vacuum fitting, THEN holding the fuel tank adapter, turn the hex jam nut in a clockwise direction to remove the fuel valve assembly, remove the fuel filter strainer from the valve head, remove the hex jam nut from the fuel valve and remove and discard the gasket from the valve head.

FUEL VALVE Installation

Attach the fuel supply valve assembly to the tank by threading the hex fitting on the right hand threads of the fuel tank two turns (the collar on the hex fitting faces the fuel tank), holding the hex fitting and thread body of the fuel supply valve assembly into the left hand threads of the hex fitting two turns, hold the fuel supply valve assembly so that the handle points to the left, straight away from the motorcycle, tighten the hex fitting (clockwise) to 15-20 ft-lbs (20.3-27.1 Nm), connect the fuel hose to the outlet nipple on the fuel supply valve assembly using a new clamp and HOSE CLAMP PLIERS, connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum nipple and the fill tank with gasoline, check for leaks at the fitting, turn the fuel supply valve handle ON and start the engine. No special procedures are required to start the fuel flow, carefully inspect for leaks and then turn the fuel supply valve OFF and shut off the engine after the inspection is complete.

My suburan hot water in my 5th wheel camper only makes warm water, never hot. what is the problem?

First, let water heater heat up until it shuts itself off. Now carefully, ( it should be hot) open pressure relief valve slightly and catch some hot water in a cup or container. Compare it to what comes out your tap, that you say is warm only. If that water from pressure relief feels hotter, then check your by-pass valves for proper operation and position on rear of water heater, as it may be in a position that is allowing cold to mix with hot, creating warm. Cold line will go direct in the bottom fitting and hot will come out top fitting, and make sure any valves in between those 2 lines are in off position. If all is well there, or water from pressure relief is only warm as tap as well, then buy a new thermostat and ECO for that particular model water heater from RV dealer/service center, and replace them. They are behind rubber cover on upper left side on water heater. When cover is off, they are held against tank by 3/8 nut. When you replace it, snug nut up good but be careful not to go too much and snap that small brass stud that nut goes on. Pay attention to position of old one, so new one goes same way.

I have an Amana ARB2557 that was moved and when hooking up the copper water supply I realized there was no brass nut or sleeve to connect the water to the Refrigerator. I have tried a standard 1/4"...

think your right most likely the fitting is stripped. but if its a plastic hose you need the compression ring the nut and a sleeve to slid in the plastic line. that prevents the plastic line from collapsing and is what the ring compresses to. without that it will leak.

LEAKING WATER

The plastic line has cracked at the water valve. See this page item 804:

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=206380&diagram_id=21040526#d21040526

It is a matter of turning off the water supply, removing the attaching nut and compression fitting then cut off the line... transfer the inner sleeve nut and brass outer compression ring to the new hose then reinstall the line onto the water valve. If it is leaking at a water filter connection the repair is the same as above.

Turn on the water supply when you finish.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to replace fuel filter on a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 5.7 Liter

On all C/K's of this body-type 88-98, the fuel filter is located under the driver's side door inside the frame rail near the crossmember that supports the tail of the transmission. Replace it with AC Delco part GF-626, FRAM part G3727, or other comparable brand corresponding metal bodied filter. You should use a flare-nut wrench for the line fitting and one for the filter fitting. I'm not sure of the size needed for the filter, but the line should be 5/8". For SFI engines ('96 and later) you need to bleed off the pressure in the line. Locate the pressure test port on the fuel rail under the hood, remove the cap, press valve to relieve line pressure and recap valve. If ground clearance is not high enough to get under vehicle and work, raise it with jack and rest frame on jackstands. * Caution: Fuel in lines and filter will run out once fittings are undone. Use fuel safe container to catch fuel spill. Take wrenches and hold filter from rotating, while loosening line fittings. Remove Filter from bracket by sliding and manipulating fuel lines for clearance, and slide filter out of bracket. Reassembly is reverse of disassembly. Tighten fittings snugly. Reconnect battery, turn ignition on (do not start). Pump will make brief whirring sound - less than 5 seconds. Check for leaks. No leaks - good. Now you can drive again.

Fitting merc 300d transmission filter

The filters never fir quit right. the replacement filter retaining tab does not seem tight in the valve body. just make sure that the feed tube with "o" ring is flush with valve body and snug the retaining tab to the valve body. Just make sure old "o" ring came out with old filter

Water Supply Line for Ice maker and Water dispenser is leaking.

Hi, The fitting either needs tightened or changed. Is this a brass or plastic fitting?
If the supply line is still ok and not brittle, you can go to your local hardware store and get the new fitting parts. If it is brass, be sure and get the brass insert that goes inside the tubing as well as the compression ring.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Water leak at filter

I had this with a Kitchenaid Superba and wanted to get rid of the filter holder assembly entirely as I have an undersink unit which serves the fridge. I removed the plastic line (nut) at the back of the fridge (which led to the filter holder at the front) where the flexible copper tubing inserted (this was a 3/8' compression fitting-plastic) and also the returning line (1/4" copper compression nut on a plastic line) at the manifold (again in the back of the fridge) where it gets split between the water line and the ice line. I then just connected the 1/4" flexible copper directly to the manifold (1/4" nut, compression sleeve, male-male connector) using a pre-made 1/4" flexible compression line. Sounds complicated but after seeing how the water routes it was fairly quick work.
