What if it does work with another computer? How does that help with mine? :\

This is probably one of three problems that often screw up the colors on a monitor.

This is most likely a problem of your computer overheating. To fix this:

1. Open your computer and clear out any dust particles with a vacuum. Just make sure not to hit any of the parts of the computer and break it.
2. Get a cooling system. This could be as simple as pointing a fan at your computer and turning it on to buying a water cooling system. Just do something to try to keep your average heat lower.

This is most often the problem and will clear up your problem. If not it may be a problem of a bad cable.

1. To test this you could go out and buy a completely new cable and connect the monitor with that cable. If you don't want to pay for a new cable not knowing if that's the problem, just borrow a cable from a friend, neighbor, or your work and test with that. If it works with the new cable, buy a new one and that fixes the problem.

If neither of those solutions fix the problem it is most likely just a problem with the hardware in the monitor. If the monitor is still under warranty, contact Compaq support and have them replace it. If it is not, you'll need to buy a new monitor.

I did have this thing for like 4 years now .. Guess it's just gone old? Tried my other cable, but it's not working.
    New one it is huh?

Yeah you probably just need a new one. But if you have another computer in the house or can go try it out at a friend's I would do that first. If the monitor doesn't work correctly with other computers, it's definitely just a hardware issue and you'll have to get it replaced. But better to try it out first and make sure instead of spending money when you might not need to.

Why does my galaxy s3 screen turn black, green, or pink?

Screen colours are "additive".
They take some amount of each of the 3 "primary" colours, to make a specific colour. For example, 100% + 100% + 100% gives "white". Getting "pink" when you expect "white" means that you are getting 0% instead of 100% of one of the 3 colours.
Bad screen, or partially-broken cable between the "motherboard" and the screen.

Speakers

On tower computers made in the past 8-10 years, the speaker socket is colour-coded so you can easily find the right socket (this colour coding system is known as AC'97).
The speakers go in the light green socket, and there will usually be two others, one is light blue for secondary sound output, and the other is pink, used for microphone input.
Computers with older sound systems may have all black sockets instead, invented before the AC'97 system of colour coding, in which case there will usually be a very small picture indicating which is the speakers.
The easiest way with older black socket designs is to start the PC playing music, and then go thru each socket (it's perfectly safe to plug speakers into the wrong one of the available sockets - none of these things carry high voltage of any kind.
High specification modern towers may have 6 or more sockets available, as these are needed for surround sound Dolby 7.1 speaker outputs. With that type, they are split into 2 groups of 3, with 1 group covering the standard pink, green and blue sockets, and then the extra ones next to them.
You may also see a small square audio socket on your PC if its top of the range, and this may have a red glow from it. This is fibre-optic audio output, and you should avoid ever looking directly into these illuminated sockets as they are like a laser light inside.

I've just bought a desktop from Cube (the Polaris ST12) which comes with Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 speaker system. The connection instructions which come with the speakers show 3 cables from the subwoofer...

The blue is for a audio in and pink is the mic. Green is the audio out.
You will need to buy a new video card that has all 4-5 colors (green,,black, orange, blue, pink, white)
That way you can plug in all your connections and it'll work correctly.

Pink colour

Hi there!
May be that the colour Amp is at fault or the tube is busy failing. Commonly it would be the colour Amp (Dry joints or faulty drivers). The Green is dead. I have had cases where power surge can magnetise the tube to such an extend that the whole picture will show one colour. In your case I doubt it very much. Good Luck,JUS004
