Question about Toshiba 62HM95 62" DLP HDTV

1 Answer

I have a 62HM95. I was planning to hook up to my computer for online internet TV, but the manual states "Never connect this TV to a personal computer". I have DISH satellite service with a HD DuoDVR VIP722K. This only permits me to access DISH services online, but not Netflix, Hulu, or other internet sources. Is there a way I can hook up this TV to access the full range of resources available online?

Thank you for your advice. Actually, I only have one computer, and it is located in a different area of my home. What about using something like Roku?

They forbid the use of this tv as a pc monitor because the DLP chip (the one that generates the image) will fail faster when static images are displayed.
But that doesn't mean that you cannot use it as one . Connect it to an old pc that you will use as an internet and media unit by using either:
1 - the HDMI connector and set the resolution at 1280×720
or
2 - the analogue video component connections (VIDEO 1 preferably) and set the resolution to 1920x1080

Yes, a Roku will do - it's basically just a simple pc running a customized Linux OS.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why am i losing my internet connection before my data bundle expires/depletes

Suggest you contact your internet provider and see if there is some problem on their end. Also ask if you have exceeded their data plan of usage.
For example my Straight Talk phone plan states unlimited data, text and internet access, however in fine print I only have 2GB's of data.
Hardly 'unlimited' wouldn't you say?

It makes it so for example, that only so many videos can be watched on Youtube, etc.
Once the 2GB limit is reached that's it folks!

How do I watch netflix on tv as I have signed up for netflix on line

Your tv needs to have a connection to the internet. If the tv does not have it, you can use a peripheral like a game system that has internet access. A lot of newer tv's have internet access with direct links to Netflix and other online viewing providers. You can also hook up a computer to your tv with a cable and mirror or extend the display to the tv. Then connect to Netflix through your computer.

Netflix problems

maybe this can help. If not, please supply your TV model.

You need to register with Netflix online first to create a login and password.

Here`s how to:

>> On your computer go to netflix.com then click signup or signup.netflix.com
>> Fill all the necessary information they needed.
>> Purchase any plan they offer after you created an account(Optional as you can avail a trial version for 7 days)

Now go to your TV

>> Turn the TV on then hit menu
>> Go to My apps menu
>> Select Netflix
>> Sign in with your username and password
>> Take note of the code
>> Go to your computer and login to netflix.com/activate and type in the code to activate.
>> Go back to the TV select finish to start the service

Important:

Make sure your TV is connected to the internet, either wired or wireless

Here are the three methods to connect wireless on your TV:

Scan and connect

>> Turn on the TV
>> Go to Menu
>> Go to Network settings
>> Select easy then scan for networks
>> Select and connect

Connect using WPS

Press the WPS button(Padlock with signal wave) on your TV`s side panel then on your router.

Note:

You only have two minutes before the router turn the WPS off

Add network manually

>> Go to Menu
>> Go to Network settings
>> Select manually add network

Type and select the appropriate settings:
SSID: Name or the Wireless network
Security: Either the WEP, WPA, WPA2 or WPA+WPA2
Passphrase/Passkey: Type in the password

Wait for a prompt that the TV is connected to the internet.
