Question about iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 Monitor

1 Answer

For many years, my monitor will flash too bright ocassionally. And it will stay too bright until I jiggle the whole monitor. I thought it is the connection in the back of the monitor, and if I jiggle this connection, it does , indeed, affect this problem. But, I can't tighten this connection any more than it is. Plus, the problem always comes back. Once I get the bright flash gone....everything looks great for a real good while. I used to think it only happens when a page comes up on my screen that has a lot of whiteness to it, but really, if I'm on any page...it can start to flicker too bright. Sometimes, it corrects itself. I have tried using the Degauss button, but that doesn't permanently fix it.

How to change the 'Contrast' and 'Brightness' on the monitor screen

Bootup your computer and display your Windows Desktop. Make sure yourmonitor stays on for at least half an hour before you begin, so that itis properly warmed up.

Seta pure black image on the monitor so you can adjust the brightness. Toget a pure black image, do the following: Choose Start, then ControlPanel, then Display. This will open the Display Properties dialog box.Click the down arrow next to the representation of the desktop color inthe Color field. Choose black from the color palette, then click OK.

Maximizethe Brightness control on your monitor, then slowly reduce it until theblack of the image perfectly matches the black at the edge of thephysical screen. This puts the brightness at the proper setting.

Open a screen with a plain white background soyou can adjust the contrast. One of the best ways to do this is to open aword-processing document without any text in it. Gradually reduce the contrastsetting of your monitor until the white area of the screen begins to lookslightly gray or off-white. Then gradually increase the contrast until thewhite area on your monitor is pure white. This will give you the proper whitebalance. Now you've got your monitor ready for peak performance.

Hope this may help you solve your problem.

Screen keeps going into darkness at start-up

Hi
The screen kept winking out because the brightness setting was too dark, something to do with the tolerance perhaps?
I just made it brighter and all was well!

Monitor Goes black, or flickers on and off

The high pitch sound is coming from the inverter. It is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, this lamp gives the backlight to the LCD so you can see the LCD images.

Samsung Syncmaster 204T flashing

Hi,
Please check that all the cables are plugged in firmly on the back of the monitor and on the back of the computer.
However....
It sounds like the back light on the screen is faulty. If this is the case it is definitely a return for repair problem. You should be able to find the warrantly procedure for your area on the samsung website.
Cheers

Monitor stays dim

Chances are it's not the actual CFL back-light bulbs themselves, but the back-light inverter board. If it was the bulbs you would have not had the "warm up and it get bright" issue. The board IS replaceable, (as well as the bulbs) ViewSonic charges about $36.00 USD for the board when they have them in stock. (out of stock as of yesterday 11/14/2006) It should be covered under warranty if you got longer than one year. (I know the warranty was only one year on MY VA800 but I have seen longer offered since i got mine) Good Luck I hope this helps! El Duderino
