Question about GE 60-511-02-95 - ITI Wireless DS924i Pet Immune PIR

Open Question

GE Motion Sensor DS924i PET. I removed the sensor to paint the wall and after putting it back on the wall, the red LED will stay on for 3sec and off 3sec (repeat on going). I also tried to push the TEST button on the sensor, but exactly the same indication on the red LED. The alarm monitor doesn't display any fault/trouble. It shows READAY. When I armed the alarm, when time up (activated), the alarm will go off right the way (thinking the motion sensor is tripped, I guess due to the red LED came on). Any idea what the problem might be? thanks in advance, Jack

SOURCE: Motion sensor disarms itself

the system is set up to bypass the motion if a door hasnt been opened during the exit delay. you can either open and close a door everytime you arm the system or if you have access to the installer you can delete option 52 and that will fix your problem

My motion tracking led security spotlight just blinks red

Hello, lack of details, I'm assuming you meant the one red led light above the fake camera lens... I have open, dissected killed and brought back to life my GE. When had the whole thing apart I noticed that the wiring were very thin and were held together with a white glue. When I did put it back together it worked. A day or two later it stopped working, so I opened up again, and inspected every little detail and discovering that the black thin wire that is the negative, had came out of the glue that was sopose to hold the wires in the pcb board. Where it should had been solder in the first place. So I redid the wires one by one and solder them exactly the same way, but before that I tested it to make sure that black wire was in fact the problem, and it was. So I continue to finish and reassemble and it worked great...
I even took out the fake lens and replaced it with a mini camera now I can watch on my big screen when it follows people. Because the wiring through the middle of hollow plastic tubing when you adjust the sensor manually and remember that the led as well turns it bring friction and pulls on the wiring... and that seems to be one of the major issues of the spot light and why they fail... I would open it up and inspect it and take pictures as you go just incase you forget how to put it back together

Red light doesn't go off on stanley studfinder

Hi Laurie,

I think you might have confused the calibration set up in the first step of the directions. This must be done each time the unit is powered on, placed on a different wall, or whenever it is providing ambiguous indications. For you convenience, I have pasted the operation manual below. You should download and review the entire manual - free of charge here.

1) Hold the Stud Sensor 50 flat against the surface making firm contact.

2) Press in and hold the activation button. The green
and red LED's will light. When the red LED goes off,
the unit is calibrated
. Keep holding the activation button
during all of the following procedures.
Note: While calibrating, the Stud Sensor 50 must not
be placed directly over a stud, dense material such as
metal, or over a wet or newly painted area, or it will not
properly calibrate. If the Red LED stays lit, move to
a different location and try again.

2) Slide the Stud Sensor 50 slowly across the surface
in a straight line. As it detects a stud edge, the red LED
will go on.
Use the handy pencil notch located at the top of the
unit to mark the stud edge.

3) Repeat the above steps from the other side of
the stud. Coming from the opposite direction, mark
the other edge of the stud. The midpoint of the two
marks indicates the stud center.

Cautions on Operating
The proximity of electrical wiring or pipes to the surface
of the wall may cause the Stud Sensor 50 to detect
them as studs. You should always use caution when
nailing, cutting or drilling in walls, ceilings and floors
that may contain these items. Always remember that
studs or joists are normally spaced 16 inches or 24
inches apart and are 1-1/2 inches in width. To avoid
surprises be aware that anything closer together or of a different width may not be a stud.

I hope this helps & good luck!

My blackberry torch isnt turning on. when i remover my batterry then put it back, the led light becomes red for like 3sec then nothng and the screen stay black! what can i do?? my blackberry is only 2...

Good Day, Try this first and let me know what happens later. Use something like a needle to scratch the terminals of the battery and put your ****** to the terminals to make it a little wet. Then put the battery back inside the phone without connecting the charger to the phone. Then after the red light comes on, connect the charger. Please don't hesitate to let me know what happens later. Thanks for using Fixya!

My sensor no longer works. It use to turn on the porch light when someone entered the carporch. How do I open the sensor so that I can put new batteries in it? I know that it uses AAA batteries.

Manual for this sensor is not available.
In the Zenith I have installed The motion sensor battery slot was h at the back side of the sensor, you had to remove the sensor from the wall sliding it on one side to access the battery. It mounted two AA batteries, not AAA.

I need to re-set a wireless motion sensor after changing the batteries. At first it said 'sensor tampered with', then 'sensor open'. How do I do a re-set? Thanks

Make sure that you didn't lose the spring tamper switch. If not strech it out a little and it should clear when you put it back on the wall.
