Question about Apple iPod nano

IPod screen messed up

My ipod's screen looks like someone left it in the sun, or crushed it (without the screen breaking)
This happened to another ipod I had and I had to send it in for repairs and they sent me a new one, but then this happened. My ipod wasnt in the sun or anywhere, in fact it was in my room on the computer desk. It is protected with a thick rubber case and it even has a cover for the screen. I tried calling apple and they told me that it would cost about as much to have it repaired than to just buy a new one.
Is there anything I can do to fix it myself??

My ipod touch has been disabled for 21,627,574 minutes and i don't know how it happened. Can you help me disable it so that all the minutes will go away?

You or someone might have tried to access your iPod by entering in the wrong password a couple of times. Here is what you do to get it unlocked...
Step 1: Plug your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes.

Step 2: After a few moments, scroll down the left side of your screen until you see your iPod. Select it.

Step 3: The right side of your screen should now show the general information about your iPod. Scroll down the right side of your screen until you see a button labeled "Restore"

Step 4: Click OK. Give it a few minutes and your iPod will be restored to factory settings WARNING: ALL THE INFORMATION THAT WAS ON YOUR IPOD WILL BE ERASED. Once the iPod is restored, it will be able to sync with whatever is in your iTunes library.

My Ipod is disabled and says try again in 26,608,870 minutes and obviously I can't wait that long how can I fix it without replacing it?

What most likely has happened is that you or someone was trying to access your iPod and tried to enter a passcode to get in. After a certain amount of tries, your iPod will disable itself. Here's how you can get it back.
Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.
Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.
Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.
Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button.
Step 5: Hit Restore, and wait for a few minutes. THIS WILL WIPE EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN YOUR IPOD AND RESYNC IT WITH EVERYTHING THAT IS IN YOUR ITUNES LIBRARY.
This is the only working method known.

The power button on top is no longer working. Nothing happened to the ipod, dropped etc.... the button just stopped functioning.

If your iPod is under a year old, you can get it serviced at the Apple Store for free, or get it replaced.
Otherwise, it sounds like something might have caused it to break (pressing too hard? someone dropped it without you noticing? tearing it apart and not putting it back together correctly?), in that case, you might have to pay Apple to fix it (if its older than a year).

I just got an i touch, weird pattern behind glass

it sounds like it got crushed, or had too much pressure applied to it. This happened to my ipod before when I left it in my backpack. Hate to say this, but it costs more to fix it then buy a new one (At least, that's what I was told). If you can still get it to work properly, thank your lucky stars. If you can't get it to work, it's busted. iPods are made pretty cheaply. Cases are the best way to go. If there is absolutely no way that it got crushed, take it to your nearest apple store, or send it to apple through the mail.

Hope it has a warrenty on it. =(

The ipod classic screen got crushed behind a car powered seat. It sort of works, but the screen is really messed up. Any ideas?

Go to Ebay and buy a screen for a 6th gen ipod classic/video. Verify this with the seller

it must be for a 6th gen it has a different connection than the 5.5 gen
it's a wider ribbon

to install it go to YouTube and get a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E_O_mIGaMU&feature=related

The take apart of this unit is going to be similar but be very careful and work slowly.
Remember when you open the case your warranty is void
The decision the fix your own ipod is your and you assume the risk for damage to your own ipod.
I am not responsible for any mistakes or damage you do to your ipod.

If this helps you please leave a vote in fixya

My IPOD screen is scrambled

This is actually common in LCD's. Either you have dead pixels which requires a new screen or a connection problem which is unlikely. That usually happens while installing a screen. If it worked once, it is probably dead pixels. A screen is medium difficulty to replace but not if you have no idea what you are doing. Good luck.
