The stove is 26 years old. Has been working very well. Now the two heating elements on the left side of the stove and oven are not working. The pilot lights come on. Fuses in good shape and 220 volts is supplied to the stove. Any idea

Check the contact points on the rear of the element they burn off after years of use, if the contacts are still good, Look at the element itself for any white marks on the element, if you see any , the element itself has probably burned out and need replacing , to get to the contacts,, depending on the oven, remove the back they should be right in sight , if you do need to replace the fittings on the wire ends, be sure and get heat range connectors

ISOLATE MAINS POWER BEFORE WORKING ON ANY APPLIANCE
It sound like an element problem, but, you need to investigate, before we can go ahead to define the exact problem, the varistate control is working because the fan operates.
Remove the ovens, remove the rear and may have to remove the top, or sides, remove the bottm fan, you should be able to vue the element, look for Black Grey burnt blow out, not carbon or food spots, if you see or feel a rough spot on the element, it probabily is blown. Replace heating element. Seach in whitegoods.co.uk for part, you will need model and serial numbers.
Hope this has been helpful

The oven will not light on my Whirlpool gas oven Mod SF368LEPQ 2. The stove top burners still light.

Sounds like you need an bake element ignitor if the bake doesn't work but if the broil also doesn't work, it could be the electronic clock/timer control. the part number for the bake ignitor is 8054129 .Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.

HOTPOINT ELECTRIC STOVE

two things---when you open the oven door do you see a button on the right or left side?if so thats a door switch and if its bad you will get no voltage to the element.the next thing is your hi limit is bad.this is a sensor that monitors the temp of the oven and if its bad you wont get any heat.some hi limits reset themselves others you have to manually reset them.let me know.
