Question about Garden

1 Answer

Bought this WeedEater trimmer yesterday, and bought a can of 40:1 gas/oil mixture to run it on. Just used it for the first time today. Had a little trouble getting it started, but not too bad. Ran fine for a little while, then it started dying and I would have to restart. Then all of a sudden the starter cord wouldn't pull anymore. What's going on?

Hi It could be the gas/oil mixture, usually the gas/oil mixture should be 50:1 or 1 gallon of gas to 2.6oz of oil.

What is the fuel mix for a 128cd model weed eater

A good fuel mixture ratio for any 2 stroke weedeater or chainsaw is 50:1. That equals out to 2.6 oz of oil per gallon of gasoline. Most 2 stroke oils can be bought in pre-measured containers at hardware stores or small engine dealers. It is best to not mix more than 2.5 gallons at a time. Hope this helps, Daniel.

I bought it refurbished, used it once. The 2nd

Mix up some fresh fuel mixtutre. I mean go to the gas station and get fresh fuel and mix your two cycle oil with it. Sounds like old fuel mixture.
Several manufacturers have told us at class this year, that fuel over 30 days old is no longer good. Plus it may need some carburetor adjustments.

Won't stay running for more than 10 min

Not true. It is important to read the package and fuel/oil mixture ratio ie: 40:1, 50:1, 32:1, as long as the mixtures are the same, you can use one tank for all of the 40:1 tools, one can for all the 50:1 mixtures, one can for all the 32:1 mixtures. essentially all the 2 stroke oils are the same, the numbers just designate parts of oil(quantity) to parts of gas.
