Looking at the manual at the link below it would appear it slides out of the holder to the right.

I am sorry but there is no way for me to ask for clarification other than entering a possible solution. Just reject my solution if this doesn't help. Please let us know if this is the right model http://cdn.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/pdf/manuals/SpeedZone_EliteComp%20FINAL.pdf The battery change instructions are on page 4-5 (as labeled on the page bottoms) or the 3rd page of the PDF file. A photo of the device or Exact model number would be helpful if. You could post those as additional info. -Mark
Also, you can browse through the list of bicycle computer manuals on the Specialized Tech Support page. Most helpful if you know what year the model was first available.

Bicycle Computer option is near the bottom of the list of categories.

Try sliding a fingernail file down the back of the computer (from the top) until it touches the release tab. Then gently pull/pry the free end of the file up (towards the display side of the computer). Once you hane gentle pressure on the file, slide the computer up towards the free end of the file.
I hope that this is all meaningful because I am only assuming what your situation is.

I waded some more comments below my first solution.

I don't have a problem with changing the battery -- I am concerned with getting the whole display unit out of the bracket so I can change the battery! How does it come out -- pops, slides, what?
I am not finding a release tab...any other ideas for me?
I pulled the manual up before I contacted you guys....Pages 4 & 5 don't tell me how the computer unit fits into and out of the bracket! Thanks for your help, though. Someone will know how, I'm sure!
I'm just trying to figure out how to get the display off of its base. I can change the battery then, no sweat, but I am baffled about how to get the display off...does it pop, slide or what? Besides battery changing, I would like to be able to get the thing loose and off when the bike is parked! Thanks in advance!
I wrote to tell you guys to stop working on it -- that a friend had figured it out for me....not to charge me or do anything else. You wrote back after that.....didn't need any more help...thanks, though.
