Question about FUJIFILM Finepix A235 Digital Camera

Open Question

I have a fujifilm a235 and have tried 3 SD cards in the camera, the camera says card error to everyone of the cards. I have formatted all the cards in the camera, and the cards work ok in a different camera but cant get the camera to work. This has happened quite a few times with the camera, has spells of working ok and then either has message, card error or read error. I sent the camera back to yourselves last year for this problem and it was returned that no fault was found. The camera did work for a bit but has started with the same problem again.

SOURCE: I have a fujifilm A170

Hi.

Test the camera using a 2GB memory card. Depending on firmware version the camera will accept only 2GB. Most models accept up to 4GB.

If that is not the problem, try formatting the memory card (try also with old malfunctioning card.

Instructions on how to format the memory card can be found at page 73 on the manual available below.

Here the user manual.

Regards.

Ginko.

Your card may be full or damaged.
Is the card compatible with your camera - most cameras will work only with specific cards.
Does the camera work with another card? If you haven't tried that I would suggest you do so.
If you get the same message with another normal card then the problem may be with your camera.

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Ensure the SD card lock feature is not engaged. If that doesn't work then format the SD card in a computer, place it in the camera and attempt to format it in the camera. If that doesn't work try a different SD card.

How to Recover Pictures From Fujifilm FinePix S700 Storage Media

With 7 mega pixel camera, 10x optical zoom, 2.5 LCD, picture stabilization mode, and i-Flash intelligent Flash, the Fujifilm FinePix S700 fulfills all the requirements of any photographer. The storage media (SD and xD memory cards) used in this camera allows the photographer to save audios, videos, and photos of different sizes. Damage in storage media can occur any time, resulting in fatal consequences, like inaccessibility of data saved in the memory card. In most cases, the photographer encounters an error message stating that the card is corrupted. To overcome such corruption scenarios, the photographer needs to restore the data from an updated backup. But all photographers do not create a backup on regular basis. For them, a third-party Camera recovery software acts as a boon and helps them recover the data.
As a real-world instance, you encounter the below error message while trying to view the pictures saved in your SD card (inserted in Fujifilm FinePix S700):
"CARD ERROR"
After the above error message pops up, the data saved in the SD card becomes inaccessible.
Cause:
Few main causes for the above error message are:
1.Incorrect SD card format.
2.Incompatible SD card.
3.Memory card corruption due to unexpected camera shutdown, virus infection, and interrupted read or write operation.
Resolution:
To resolve the above error message and to access the data saved in SD card, you will need to:
1.Use a compatible SD card.
2.In case of memory card corruption, format the card in Fujifilm FinePix S700 camera. Though formatting brings the card in reusable state, all the audio, video, and picture files get deleted. To recover the deleted data, you will need to choose a powerful Camera recovery software.
Such recovery tools use effective scanning methods to ensure complete Camera data recovery. These tools can be downloaded from the Internet and used by anybody. Such applications are safe as they harm the original data saved in the memory card.
Digital camera recovery software is a world-renowned Photo Recovery utility used for recovering data from almost every type of memory card. This software ensures complete recovery of digital files, irrespective of their size or type. Compatible with Windows and Mac OS X, the read only software also recovers data from other storage media, like Zip drives, hard drives, etc.

Fujifilm z70

it is explained on page 79 of the manual.

Before you can copy you must have a SD (of SCHC) card in the camera. It should have a correct format. The most secure way to get a correct format in the SD card is to format the card in the camera.

Finepix a235 ook pictures camera is saying read error can't load them or view them

I would first try using a card reader and attach the card to your computer. If it can't see any photos, you might try some photo recovery software to recover the photos on your card.

What size disk does it take tried reg. disk for camera is there a diff. size to fit fujifilm camera

This camera was made at a time before everyone had standardised on "SD card". You will have to search a little to find a suitable card, because the format is now obselete.

The format you need is called xD-Picture Card and you can find a description here.

My av100 cant detect the sd card.... what can i do?

Hello - this could be 1 or 2 reasons / solutions to try
1 Make sure the Camera Internal Memory is empty before inserting the SIMM card.
2 Memory Card is not formatted - go into settings to format. (if the card has already been formatting on a PC then the Camera won't recognise it)
3 If it's SD card make sure the lock button slides into the unlock position.
OR -- if these don't work download the Manual -- http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/a/finepix_av150_manual_01.pdf
Hope this helps and you are back on track taking finepics again.
