Question about Desa International Garden

1 Answer

My 300 utility seems to flood out everytime I try to start it. I have rebuilt the carb, including replacing the needle valve. After it turns over for 4-5 times, gas starts pouring out of the carb. I do not know the adjustment settings for the different screws as my manual does not provide the data, so that may factor into it. I turn the gas off everytime I park it, and have even tried to start it without turning the gas on or by opening the valve only about 1/2-1 turn but still have the gas leaking out at air intake hose on carb. Help! Please!

The needle is not seating with the float which is causing the carburetor to flood. either the needle is not attached to the float(some snap into a plastic groove, others have a spring) or the float is bad. Hope this helps Tim

Stihl blower wouldn start, rebuilt carb it floods terribly. good compression. what did I screw up in the rebuild? I have rebuilt many carbs and they worked.

you have screwed up on the needle and seat assembly( probably dirt under the needle )

that is why it is flooding

as for the rest have you put the diaphragm on the correct side of the gasket

Why woul a weed eater gti15 shoot gas out the back of the carb

Hello,
You should take a look at the needle valve /float assembly.
You will need to clean the needle-valve really good and it's seal using a cotton swab. You will so need to verify that the float is bent properly so as to apply enough pressure on the needle valve to shut off the gas when the bowl is full
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!

I have a John Deere LT 150 lawnmower that seems to flood while I'm mowing. I have replaced the filter and the coil, still the same problem. If I remove the fuel line and drain the filter, it will start...

THE NEW GAS IS ******* CARBS, IT WILL NEED TO BE REBUILT , OR JUST CLEANED, GET SPRAY CARB CLEANER, REMOVE THE BOWL AND SPRAY AROUND THE NEEDLE VALVE , FLIP THE FLOAT UP AND DOWN AS YOU ARE SPAYING IT.. DO NOT GET THE SPRAY ON THE BOWL GASKET ! IT WILL SWELL IT UP ! .. LET DRY FOR ABOUT 10 MIN ... THIS MAY WORK . IF NOT YOU MAY NEED A FLOAT AND A NEEDLE AND SEAT.. CALL YOUR LOCAL LAWN MOWER SUPPLY SHOP .. USE A GAS STABILIZER .. THIS WILL HELP AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE .. JAY.. THE POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY .. HIT THE YES IF I WAS OF HELP..

Rebuilt carbs. flooding rear cylinder

well your deffinately flooding if it had no problems like this before the rebuild then i would say its the needle on the float not closing all the way try takinf the carb off and take the bowl off leaving the float on and hook up the feul line and push the float up if its leaking you have a bad needle. if its not leaking then your problem may be the spark to the cylinder

Won't start - gas is leaking out

If the gas is leaking out of the carb, then it is most likely flooding and the needle valve possibly is being held open by some stray debris. Carb needs to be removed and checked....possibly even rebuilt as older models require this periodically.
