If the rear wall inside the freezer has ice build-up on it then the defrost isnt working, remove this panel and check evaporator coil if its iced up the evaporator fan cant blow the cold air thru this coil, defrost it with a hand held hair dryer, then check the heating element located below the evaporator coil for continuity then check the round defrost thermostat on the top of the evaporator coil, note, this part needs to be tested below 32degrees to test good above that temp it will show open or bad

That fan is most likely on trying to defrost that frozen coil. It sounds like you may need a thermostat, a coil cleaning, and hopefully the system is not low on charge, those are 99% of the causes for a freezer, or refrigerator to freeze, hope all works out.

Not cooling properly

Sounds like your coils are getting plugged,(excess ice in and around the coils)if you have a cooler or some other place to keep your food cold, turn off or unplug the fridge, you want to defrost it,for the freezer place pans of hot water in it to speed up the process, leave doors open, should only take around 4 to 12 hrs.A good time to clean it to lol.
Hope this helped.Let me know. Also rate me.

Amana refrigerator warm

Chances are if they are getting cool but not cold-

1) the evaporator fan in the freezer is not running
2) Defrost heater has failed
3) Defrost sensor has failed
4) Defrost timer/refrigerator control has failed.

Check for ice build-up on the back wall of the freezer. If there is ice, unplug or turn the unit off for 6-8 hours with the doors open (put any food in a cooler with ice to maintain). Note water may come out of the refrigerator.
Plug the unit back in or turn it back on, close the doors, and check temperature after a couple of hours of operation. If all OK, you will need to have the above tested, or, if you know how to use a multimeter and can read a schematic/wiring diagram, I can instruct you on how to check the above.
