To load the brake grab the hand guard firmly and pull it fully back to the top handle, you should hear a click as it loads.

Poulan gas hand saw is locked reset handle will

Are you referring to the chain brake handle or the handle you pull to start the saw? To reset the chain brake handle, pull it back towards the rear of the saw, this may take some force. If the starter grip or handle will not pull out then your saw may be seized or something is wrong with the starter its self.

Took chain brake off 2250 how do i get it back on think i need new chain brake how much spring will not go over clutch

It sounds like the brale has actuated, and the band is now smaller that the drum, you need to carefully place it in a vice ( be careful not to damage the cover ) pull the hand guard firmly back until it clicks and the brake is off, it should now fit back over the drum.

I don't have any poulan saws mine are all stihl and homelite but they all have a chain lock on them .It is located on the front of the motor on top of the saw and if they are hit fairly hard they will lock down on the chain to prevent injury. Try to push the bar forward then pull it back towards the rear of the saw. You should hear it click when it resets.Hope this helps you. Thank you

Cutting a log with 455 rancher chain locked up took cover off replaced chain ,chain spins with cover off put cover on chain is locked up again husqvarna

It sounds like the chain is too tight. Loosen up the tension on the chain by turning the tensioning screw located on the end of the saw where the bar goes out.

Either the chain brake is on or the chain is too tight To reset chain brake pull the guard hard back toward the handle and I mean hard! They have a really strong spring and you should hear a "clack" when it resets Hope this helps

Chain break is engauged on piece that stops chain but doing know how to reset it to get it back on saw.

on the top of the saw in front of the handgrip is a plastic hand protector when this guard is pushed forward it locks the chain, when you pull it backwards towards the handgrip it releases the chain.

I have an Echo CS-440 18" chain saw and the chain came off. Now that I have put it back on, it won't move either by hand or when the engine is running. Help

OK.  This is simple. Either the chain brake is engaged or the chain is too tight. Start by pulling back on the chain brake toward you.  There should be a "click" if the brake was released.  If the chain is still immovable, try resetting the chain tension. 1. remove the spark plug wire 2. loosen the two clutch cover nuts 3.hold the bar nose up and loosen the tension adjustment screw until the chain moves freely without becoming loose. 4. tighten both clutch cover nuts with the bar held up. 5. Pull the chain around the bar by hand.  Loosen the adjustment if you feel tight spots. 6. When the chain is properly tensioned, tighten clutch cover nuts securely.  Do not overtighten! 7.  Check chain brake operation and release. 8. Replace spark plug wire and operate  saw.
Hope this solution will Fixya.
