I have had this issue before the best solution would be to check through to make sure you have the right version. I think the one that comes stock with it is a older version. I set up a few for people and was a nightmare to do but finally got them going after alot of playing around check out the different version and try to find one that will work for you if not let me know and we will go from there

There's some kind of incompatibility between your hubs settings such as the name or security settings that is incompatible with the dsi.
have a look at this website and let me know if you've solved the problem

How to connet to internet

  1. Turn on the Nintendo DSi
  2. Click on the wrench icon to access "System Settings."
  3. Select "Internet" on the third page of System Settings.
  4. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1."
  5. You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. You may also access your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, if you have one (the product has been discontinued). The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point."
  6. Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
  7. If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key.
  8. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify.
  9. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).
Thanks

How to get internet

this comes directly from nintendos website:
Turn on your Nintendo DSi and access the System Settings by clicking on the wrench icon.
Scroll over to the third page, and select "Internet."
Now choose "Connection Settings."
Click on "None" for "Connection 1." (Don't see "None" for Connection 1? To ensure any existing settings don't interfere with getting connected, tap the button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
Click on "Search for an Access Point." The Nintendo DSi will search for any wireless networks within range. Once it is finished searching, it will display the names of all the wireless networks it finds.Look for your wireless network.

unlocked_select.png if this pops up beside a connection point, it means that it is has no security measures. u can freely connect to it..

Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

  • Once the Nintendo DSi runs the connection test, you should see the following screen:
test_success.png As long as you see "Connection test successful," the support code does not matter and can be ignored.

      that should help you

I cannot connect my dsi to the internet. I try all I can but it doesnt work. How do I get it to connect?

You must either have broadband internet access and a wireless router or you can connect your Nintendo DSi at a hotspot, such as a library or coffee shop that offers internet access. Make sure you are in a location mentioned above before going to step 2.
Turn on your Nintendo DSi and click on the wrench icon. This will take you to the system settings.
Go to page 3 and select "Internet".
Click "Connection Settings".
Click "None" to the right of "Connection 1".
Click "Search for an Access Point".
Look for an access point that has a gold lock that is unlocked. Select that access point and your Nintendo DSi should now be connected.
If you are planning on playing games online with your Nintendo DSi and have WPA security, you will have to set your router to WEP security.
To do this, get back to the "Connection Settings" screen mentioned in step 4.
Click "Advanced Setup".
Click any button that says "none".
Click "Search for an Access Point".
Look for an access point that has a gold lock that is unlocked. Select that access point and your Nintendo DSi should now be connected.
