Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. I would like to know if the issue has been fixed after the solution that has been provided to you be the previous expert? If not do you still have the same problem.

Thanks

Not sure if your trying to hook it up to the TV, your computer or both.
Follow these steps to hook it up to the TV:
http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/hdd2008/scrnply/en/consolidated/main.html#scrnply
Follow these steps to hook it up to a computer:
http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/hdd2008/scrnply/en/consolidated/main.html#scrnply
If you hooking it up to your TV make sure the wires are hooked up properly and that your TV is set to the proper video source.
If your still having issues, click on the troubleshooting section on the left hand side.
If its still not working then the unit is defective, if its still under warranty, get it replaced. If its not then you'll have to get a new one.

Look for loose contacts in power outlet, power cord, RC jacks, cable, sockets. Try changing the input device to something that works such as a DVD player.

How to turn off subtitles on a hitachi tv

This may depend on the signal source of the TV. If you are watching OTA TV (or your TV is interpreting the CC from the cable or satellite signal), then use the CC button on the remote. Alternatively, depending on your exact model Hitachi TV, try using the menu to find a Tools or Options sub-menu and then turn off the CC from there. This could be under a different menu item. If you add a comment with your model number, I'll be glad to give the exact menu steps.

If you have a set-top box (cable, satellite, digital-to-analog converter box, DVD recorder), the captions may be turned on at this source. Then you will need to disable the captions from that box. With a converter box, press the CC button on the converter's remote or enter the menus for that box.

With a Dish TV set-top box, press Menu on the Dish remote, go to Properties (item 9). Click Select and then go down to Closed Caption (item 6), and press Select again. The first item in this sub-menu lets you turn on and off the captions. Press the left button and then up or down arrow followed by Select to change the setting. For other sources, check the instructions for that device or add a comment with the specific source for a solution for that device.

I hope this helps.

(the Dish CC procedure is for the box I have to deal with; I can't guarantee that updates/model changes have not changed the procedure.)

When I turn my TV on, it comes on and says 'no signal' then after about 5 seconds, automatically switches its self off... any idea why?

Most sets will shut down very fast if no signal at all.

If you can before it shuts off try to change input to one of the rear audio video inputs that has something connected to it and turned on.

Failing there and if using a box of some type for signal--unplug it and the set both for a while---plug back both and let each try to boot up.

A total loss of signal or a glitch with the set or a box can confuse the TV set's Microprocessor.

Self timer stuck

hello

Have you tried turning the drive mode lever from self timer mode to single shot mode? If not, surrounding the mode dial are a couple of levers: one being the on and off lever and the other being the drive mode lever. if you move the drive mode lever up to the first option (illustrated by a single box, meaning single shot), you'll be able to turn the self timer off.

If that doesn't work, then it might be a system bug/error. In that case, download the latest firmware here and upgrade your camera.

Hope this helps!

When i switch my laptop on it asks me to reboot . but when it reboots as soon as the windows blue screen comes up it turns off and then starts up its self and asks me to reboot again

David:

Your computer is very unhappy with a piece of hardware or a software driver in the system. The windows blue screen is known as "the blue screen of death or BSOD" and will usually have a "Stop Code" like 0x0000008E or the suchlike with some address data shown below. Make a note of the stop code and then Google it up with the manufacturer of your box to see if there is an article on what the system is complaining about (video driver, etc.). You may have to recover the laptop. If it has a recovery partition there should be instructions on their website to recover your box. You can also try hitting f8 after starting boot process and if it gives you the startup menu: (1) try Last known good configuration, or if that doesn't work (2) Safe mode. If it boots in LKGC then whatever updates or changes were made don't need to be reapplied until you find out what killed the system---same if it starts in Safe Mode ---usually a driver issue or Microsoft Update issue if it starts in safe mode. ECS also has a support link off the above web site where FAQ and the ability to contact them is listed.:

If the captions are turned off on your TV, they have to be coming from your cable box. The TV is just displaying what it's getting. Check your cable box menu and make sure captions are turned off there. Cable boxes, especially on digital systems, can prevent the TV's caption decoder from operating properly. So they need to be able to provide captioning, and I suspect you've turned it on somehow. Comcast should be able to tell you how to turn off captions if you can't figure out the menus.

Flat Panel Monitor: 1907FPt

Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. If your monitor and computer are properly connected but the monitor screen remains dark, run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:
  1. Turn off both your computer and monitor.
  2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. To ensure proper Self-Test operation, remove both Digital (white connector) and the Analog(blue connector) cables from the back of computer.
  3. Turn on the monitor.
The floating 'Dell Self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen on a black background if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green. Also, depending upon the selected input, one of the dialogs shown below will continuously scroll through the screen.
    1. This box also appears during normal system operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.
    2. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable, then turn on both your computer and the monitor.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.
