SOURCE: Honda 4 stroke petrol leaf blower.Petrol starvation

Further to the previous response of checking for bent fuel lines. It sounds like the breather is faulty, this is integrated in the fuel cap, as you screw it down the rubber/cork gasket makes a tight seal preventing spillage but the breather allows for neutral pressure inside the tank, with fuel being sucked out it creates a negative pressure in the tank or a vacuum causing the engine to be starved of fuel as it can't draw more fuel. Check the cap for dirt or grime and possibly give it a good rinse in benzine before trying again, otherwise try and get a replacement cap. Hope this helps.

2010 150 Evinrude E-Tech. Motor was running great then just shut off. Will not start again.Could it be it needes to be reset, all 4 lights at tach light up showing good.

first bit of advice
do not use e-mix fuels in outboard engines
because ethanol separates from the fuel if not used continuously so letting it stand between outings is not good
secondly ethanol is hygroscopic which means that it absorbs moisture from the air that is going in via the tank vent and that results in corroded aluminium parts and rusted fuel tanks and outboards operate in a very moisture laden environment
now for the problem
being a late model engine , it should be a 4 stroke and like any 4 stroke engine , check the timing belt/chain, crank/cam position sensors , ignition module
it is important to check all harness connections as salt water rapidly causes corrosion in electrical connections and components
have the service agent do a scan for fault codes remember this
Suzuki out board 2 stroke motors were used in the early suzuki 4x4 cars and modern 4 stroke engines are simply car engines on end

2010 Honda Deauville 700 engine cuts out after 9 minutes running

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ignition coil.
2. Faulty spark plug cables.
3. Faulty temperature sensor.
4. Faulty starter motor.
5. Valves adjusted too tight.
6. Spark plug gap too wide.
7. Fuel has vapor lock.

What is the fuel mixture for a rm250 1993 suzuki please could some one let me know thanks

Never Mix That Much Fuel At One Time. Mix 2 GALS. At Most. 2-Strokes Don't Like Ethanol Fuel. Mix 4 OZ. Synthetic 2- Stroke Oil To 1 GAL. 93 Octane Fuel. Run The Correct AUTO-LITE Or Iridium NGK Plug. Lightly Seat The Air Screw On The Carb Then Turn(CCW) 1 1/2 Turns Out. Never Run With This Screw Less Than 1 Turn (CCW) Out. Make Shure Coolant Level Is Correct. Check The Reeds Ever So Often. When Replacing Use 2-Stage Carbon-Fiber.

I have a GMC 2300w AVR generator which is pull start. it starts, runs for a min or two then cuts out..have clean fuel filter, air filter, spark plug, what else could it still cuts out without...

Do you maybe have regular gas in it? Both Canadian and US regular gas now have ethanol in them and if the generator has sat for 2 weeks or longer then the gas is bad.Remove the gas tank and look inside. You will probably see an off-color blob floating around in the bottom. That is our wonderful environment friendly ethanol doing what it does best. Drain the tank and refill with premium. Restart the engine and do what you need to keep it running for about 5 minutes. If it has the plunger primer for cold start, use it every time the engine starts to die, 2-3 pumps each time. If not dribble a little gas into the breather to keep it going. After about 5 minutes it should start running on it's own. If not you will likely have to remove the carb and get the rubber seals replaced. Ethanol and rubber don't mix well.

After this keep premium gas in all your small engines. It doesn't separate. If you want to keep using regular gas then there are additives in the after market that will help keep it from separating. Hope this helps.

Can a gl1000 use unleaded?

By the 1970s, all Honda 4-stroke (and, I believe, 2-strokes, too) engines used hardened valve seats that did not require leaded gasoline. I've run a 1974 CB550 for years and used to run a 1976 CB400f on unleaded gasoline with no ill effects. The increased ethanol content in modern gasoline is more of a problem for these bikes than the lack of lead.

If you are concerned, you can always add a bit of lead substitute each time you tank up. However, if you do that, you may need to change your spark plugs a bit more often, as the fuel supplement can lead to increased deposits on the plugs. Some bikes have this problem; others do not. You can pull a sample spark plug after a thousand miles or so and see how it looks. If it's clean and mostly-white, you're in good shape and have nothing to worry about.

Fuel mixture fOr cb100 are thet two stroke?

The Honda CB100 has a 4-stroke, single cylinder engine. It runs on straight gasoline, so you don't need to add any 2-stroke premix when you fuel up. On the other hand, you'll probably want to check your valve clearances about every 1500 miles or so--these little engines get run pretty hard, and valves out of adjustment will rob you of desperately needed power. With only 1 cylinder and 2 valves, this doesn't take long at all, once you've done the job a few times.

Viper engine on my earthquake tiller starts fine cold then dies after fifteen minutes and wont restart

You probably need a new coil, if it is a 2 stroke then it will almost certainly be the coil. The defect is very typical and recognizable.

Dies out after holing throttle open after a short while

All two stroke engines are sensitive to fuel. Now that many areas have mandated the use of added ethanol, the small engines are affected more than ever. Use fresh fuel, that is mixed and stored no longer than 6 weeks. The main reason for this is because ethanol will hold water whereas gasoline will not. Because ethanol will hold water, humidity and condensation are more critical to be careful about than ever. Mix your fuel in small batches and keep your can capped tightly and out of the sun. Now about the carb. Most two cycle engines have carb's that have two jets. The jet that is closest to the cylinder is the low speed or main jet. The other jet is the high speed jet. Start the engine and allow it to run for a minute to warm up. Adjust the low speed jet rich enough by turning it counter clock wise to allow for a good transition from idle to high speed without any bog. Next, adjust the high jet for maximum rpm plus 1/4 turn counter clock wise to keep enough fuel available for air temp and load changes. Adjust the high side with the cutting head in place. Clean out the air cleaner and the muffler screen every couple of months and you should not have any more problems.

I rebuilt the carb, put new points and condensor in and it ran for about five minutes and couldnt get it to idle correctly and now it wont start

Recheck that carburetor was assembled correctly and that fuel lines, including the one in the fuel tank, are in good condition. Preset the H & L needles at 1-1/2 to 2 turns from stops. Check for good spark on the spark plug. Check air cleaner and pull muffler apart to check for plugging. If will start and run, set H needle so that engine 4-strokes at speed, but smooths out when cutting wood. Set L needle so that engine idles fairly smooth, but allows engine to accelerate rapidly with throttle. Idle speed adjusted to keep engine running, but chain stopped.
