1. Disconnect the Printer cable
2. Uninstall the HP Printer Driver
3. Click the Start icon, Computer, go to the Tools menu, select Folders Options, go to the View tab and set Hidden Files and folders as Show hidden files and folders.
4. Navigate to directory c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\
5. Delete the w32x86 Folder. If cannot be deleted download the printer patch from the hp website
6. Restart the computer with the printer cable disconnected
7. Install the HP printer driver and it will ask the printer cable to be plugged in
8. That is the time that we will be plugging in the printer cable
9. By this time the printer is communicating to the computer by now

Hope this helps

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list again, then try to print again.

Hi - my x4550 lexmark printer wont print, can you help?

If your printer won't print when you're making a copy using the Copy button on the operator panel, it could be due to your ink cartridges. Try to re-seat your ink cartridges into the printer and make sure they are properly seated.
If you're not able to print from your computer, it could be a communication problem. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if usb-connected), reboot your computer and unplug/replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to print again.

Printer suddenly will not communicate with the computer. Tried unplugging both wall plug and usb plug. Printer can print but only test page. Tried to uninstall, but computer won't allow me, gives error...

Hi,
Have you tried rebooting your PC? Do you see a printer Icon in the taskbar (right corner) if so click on it and you may see several que's and the printer is bound up, so-to-speak. The reason your able to do a test print is because that command bypasses any que's in memory. Turn your printer power off, then reboot your PC. Onces its booted up, turn on your printer. This will clear any que's and your printer should communicate again.
Let me know if this help you.
Thank you

Keeps pausing job won't print. also won't scan... "can't load application" scans only to flashdrive.

Your firewall could be blocking some printer communications. Make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark and printer communications in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. For more information on how to configure the settings for your firewall, visit the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/iNwkNs.
