My ipaq h1940 will not sync the Outlook calendar on my computer at work. I'm trying to sync the Outlook calendar from a public file. It appears to sync my personal Outlook calendar, but not the company shared calendar. Can you help? Thank you, Brad in Minnesota, USA.
By default, it won't sync the company shared calendar. This is in fact very hard to do. You will need to speak the guys in your IT department about a product to sync your calendar with the company one. If you use Exchange server, then you may wish to look towards a product such as 'SlipStick'...

the blackberry will be using the Outlook calendar to update its information. its quite easy to use. What's happening is that the items calendared on the BB are syncing
with the "private" calendar under the username (Outlook Today -
Username - Calendar), and not the "public" calendar (All Public Folders
- John Doe). No items are marked as "private" on the BB.
Install the Blackberry Desktop manager software and after its done go to the Syncronize Button. Once inside look to the left for configuration synchronization click this button it need you to be online to do this as well. inside it will list the many programs that can be used to sync your blackberry make sure you have already setup your outlook so that it can pick up the new settings your creating. once your all done look for the top upermost button on left of BDM ( blackberry desktop manager) and click syncronize to sync your blackberry. now once it is done your BB only needs to be plugged in and it will autosync itself. look in your outlook for new entrys and popup
Usually the simplest solution with Microsoft software such as active-sync is to uninstall it and install it again from scratch. When you reinstall it will ask you what programs you want to sync with, your old PIM software has been lowered in priority in favour of Outlook because MS think everyone should want to use it, so it's often easier to start using Outlook as your main PIM.
you are now using outlook 2003 , probably cache , this means all the email is on your laptop. when you sync it will sync all the email (thousands). initialise your ppc (back to factory default). set up the sync via usb cable. then sync via bluetooth . then you are fully sync. now setup an auto backup of your email data (daily). if after some time , you have sync problem again , initialise the ppc, restore from backup and you are back to sync (last full backup). try this , you will never need to do it all again. Check the setting on the ipaq, go to ActiveSync and tools, options, server and make sure calendar, contacts and inbox are not selected here. Then, put the pda in its cradle and let it do a sync, it should change the settings on the desktop and the (sync status on device) should disappear. I had a similar problem and after de-selecting these, everything worked fine.
Try the following....
Open Active sync on your PC.
Double Click on Calendar.
Change the settings such that it syncs only 0 past and 0 future appointments.
SYNC (this will clear all calendar items on the IPAQ)
Now go back in to those Calendar settings, and set it back to the default which is 2 past weeks and All Future appointments.
SYNC (this will now reload all appointments into your Ipaq)
So make sure that you are displaying all categories....
If while on Calendar screen, you click on Tools, Categories... then all category boxes shown , should NOT be checked. If any of them are checked, then you will only be seeing that category of appointments.
