I have a gateway home editon 2600 need to be upgrade

Hello,

If you are trying to upgrade your computer's operating system then you need the following:

1. Operating System Installation Disc
2. Drivers Disc (you can also get the drivers from the computer's manufacturers.
3. Program or software discs

Note: Make sure that your computer passes all the system requirements of the new operating system to make sure that you won't have any problems.

One thing, i suggest that you install RadarSync after installing your new operating system, drivers and programs so that you will get automatic updates. RadarSync is a good software that looks up for new updates for your computer's drivers.

I hope this helps. If this isn't what you want, please let me know and provide me with the details of your problem.

What Is A Driver, Why Isn't Mine Working and Where Do I Get One

<i>What Is A Driver and Why Won't Mine Work?</i><br /> <br />A driver is software, a program, that allows your computer to <br /> communicate with hardware or devices. Without drivers, the <br /> hardware you connect to your computer&shy;for example, a video card or <br /> an audio card, printer etc will not work properly. Think of it <br /> like driving a car. It doesn't help to just turn it on if it's <br /> only going to sit there in the parking lot. It needs to know <br /> where to go and how to get there and what to do.<br /> <br /> <i>It Looks Like I Have One, But It's Not Working--- Why?</i><br /> <br /> <br /> There are several reasons why you can have a driver installed but<br /> the device doesn't work. If it was working but now it's not the<br /> file - driver - may have gotten corrupted. The resolution is to <br /> reinstall the driver. If you have installed a new version of <br /> Windows it may not work with the old driver. You will need to <br /> download a new driver for the specific version of windows you're <br /> using.<br /> <br /> <i>Where Can I Get One?</i><br /> <br /> <br /> The best why to get the proper driver for your device is to go to <br /> the manufacturer's website and download it for the particular <br /> operating system (ie windows vista) you are using. If you have a <br /> laptop start by going to Google or another search engine and <br /> SEARCH for the brand name of your laptop, ie "toshiba". In the <br /> results look for "support" or "downloads". If you dont' see <br /> that listed in the search results then just to to the main site, <br /> ie toshiba.com and then look for a tab or link (usually at the <br /> top of the page) that says SUPPORT or DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS.<br /> <br /> Once you get on the proper page of the site you will need to match <br /> the exact model of laptop you have and the operating system you <br /> are using. It will then take you to another page that has a list <br /> of drivers and other downloads available for your laptop. Look <br /> for the one you need and download it.<br /> <br /> If you are needing a driver for a desktop or an add-on device for <br /> your laptop, such as a printer, then SEARCH on Google or Bing <br /> for the manufacturer's (name) site, ie "epson". Again you're <br /> looking for SUPPORT or DRIVERS and Downloads. Click on that link <br /> and then put in the model number and operating system to get the <br /> correct driver.<br /> <br /> On occasion your machine may not like a new driver but will work <br /> if it is "rolled back" to an older version or you may need to <br /> download an older version. If you are downloading an older <br /> version you will still want to make sure it is one for the <br /> operating system you are using now.<br /> <br /> If everything has been working correctly you may wish to turn off <br /> the auto-download updated drivers in your WINDOWS UPDATE so that <br /> it doesn't automatically replace the driver with a new one. <br /> <br /> By the way, it is NOT necessary to update some things immediately <br /> when they come out! That includes not only drivers but also such <br /> things as Internet Explorer. I prefer not to be a "beta-tester" <br /> for some things without my knowledge, particularly when what I've <br /> been using works fine. Often there are still kinks being worked <br /> out in the new versions but if you wait a short while they will <br /> start being reported and hopefully the bugs will be fixed, then <br /> you can download it. It's not a bad practice to search google <br /> for " (updated product's name) and problems. For example you'd <br /> put this in a google search __ "interent explorer 9" problems <br /> ____ which will give you a return of sites that talk about <br /> problems other's have had with the product. <br /> <br /> <b><i>NOTE:</i></b> there are always some people/machines that will have a <br /> problem with something that most others don't, so don't <br /> necessarily assume that one bad report means the software is bad. <br /> However if you see repeated reports of the same problem again <br /> and again you can pretty much guess that it's the software that is <br /> causing the problem! If that is the case I would avoid updating <br /> it until you've searched again at a later date and find either no <br /> current mention (look at the dates) of repeated problem or reports <br /> of a fix.<br /> <br /><br /> <br />

Computer problem no volume

Try adjusting the volume controls. Look for the Sound or Audio properties in the Control Panel. Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound. Make sure the volume is turned up and not on mute.

You can also get to the audio properties by clicking on the megaphone located at the bottom right near the time.

Try downloading and installing the Audio Drivers from HP's website.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound and audio issues.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

How to decrease my print size

In most systems, you have at least two possibilities to alter output to the printer.
Assuming you have installed the printer driver for your printer and version of the operating system, the first place to look is whatever document program you have and it is likely that you have some basic version of Microsoft Word.
Opening Word to start a new file, click on 'File' on the upper left and choose 'New File.'Look on the new window for a selection of 'Document' and 'Template;' choose the latter. This will open a page and name it 'Template 1.'
You can set whatever margins you want and also settings for your default (favorite) font, font size, and its appearance.Saving this when finished, will create a default format called 'normal.dot' so that any time you open a new document file, these settings will apply. You can set up a number of templates for different purposes and saving them will create a file extension of '.dot' with a file name of your choosing.
The second place you can influence the printer is via the printer driver settings itself but it isn't possible to give you detailed advice on this since each mfr. provides different degrees of flexibility.Selecting the printer through the 'Start' menu, then 'Printers' (may also include 'Faxes'), look for your printer's name and model which should be there if the printer has been installed on your system.Right-clicking on the printer icon and selecting 'Properties' will give you access to the settings provided by the printer manufacturer.

What to do if logitech speakers are not working after the installation of windows 7?

Hi madhu_susant
Try to identify the missing driver(s) whith a motherboard explorer tool , like Speccy from http://download.cnet.com/Speccy/3000-2094_4-75181811.html or Sandra from http://download.cnet.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10556571.html
Look also in the device manager , click on " display adapters " and double - click on the shown one to update the driver .
You could also try on the motherboard manufacturer's site and look for on board hardware .
It' s not always that easy to find what you are looking for but with a little patience , your issue is always to be fixed .

I cant find driver's which work for windows7

In most cases xp drivers work just as well, depending on what the drivers are for.

You're not going to brake anything if you install the wrong drivers on a standard system. So long as you make sure you uninstall the old drivers before installing new ones you should be fine to trial and error drivers for the device you're looking for.

Else, posting the model number of the device here would help greatly.

Upon installed Windows Seven to an HP Pavilion a1720n PC, the network drivers refuse to function and an obvious solution is not in sight on the manufacturers website. Looking for assistance.

Unfortunately, it is the PC manufacturer's "duty" to provide updated drivers for it's units. However, with Microsoft pumping out new OS's every couple years in their effort to justify their existence, many manufacturers are refusing or delaying driver upgrades for their machines. It is fully understandable, given the multitude of machines that must be supported. On the other hand, for just that reason, drivers may be in the works, but the manufacturer may not have gotten them posted to the website yet. It is always a good idea to check the manufacturers website for driver support before purchasing and installing a new OS. You MAY be able to find a workable driver by looking at the System Information printout and trying to determine the manufacturer and version of the network chipset on the MB. A Google search will often locate standalone drivers that can be loaded and tried.
