OK, you will need to replace the magnetron and the touch pad as well. this will fix this issue.

Also Sounds like a defective door interlock switch or a broken switch mount.

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

If it's not a problem with the door switch or door switch mount, it may be a problem on the control board. We repair these for $39.95 for customers nationwide.

You might want to first check the integrity of the power source, as well as for proper polarity. If all's well at the outlet, I would look into replacing the smart board.

Before you take out any parts or disconnect any wires from the old board, make sure your new board matches up with the old one. A good idea is to take a digital photo of the original, so that if yu forget what goes where, you'll have a visual record.
If you can, transfer wire connectors one at a time, from the old to the new.

Sparp R 930 not heating, turntable not turning

I just repaired mine with the same symptoms. I found that the bottom microswitch on the door (there are 3 switches) was faulty. It started as open, when the door closed, the switch closed (good), but when the door was fully closed the switch was open again. I went to Electronic City with the switch in hand, they found me a duplicate that cost me $2.50. BTW - you must take out the door switch assembly, 3 screws plus wires, in order to work on the switch. Also, put the assembly back in so that the door latches close/open the switches correctly. -jk

Shape R-930 seems to have reset itself. No power,

Retaliate--reset it right back! haha
Most microwaves can be "reset" by unplugging for at least one hour. If that doesn't seem to fix it, you might want to contact Sharp so they can help you to get it fixed (or replaced, depending on your warranty). According to their website ( www.sharpusa.com ), it doesn't look like they have a contact phone number, but here is the link to their product inquiry web form: http://www.sharpusa.com/global/ContactUsProdSupp/1,1878,,00.html

Good luck! :)

Sharp Microwave R-950A

Chances are your thermistor is defective.

This UK model is probably similar to the US model R-930 or R-820.

We have both service manuals at our site and while the part numbers will not necessarily be the same, they will be handy for safety, disassembly and troubleshooting. They are here and here.

When you're ready to order parts, visit Sharp UK for spares dealers and servicers.

Convection not working

This almost certainly a bad thermistor. It may be open due to corrosion, or its resistance has dropped due to caked grease and / or carbon deposits.

The part number is FH-HZA041WRE0 and the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

We actually have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

If your model is not R-930, please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
