Question about Motorola Mobility Defy Cell Phone

1 Answer

When I make or receive calls using my Motorola DEFY, I can't hear the other person. I gather they can hear me ok, but I can't hear them unless I put them on speakerphone. This workaround is ok for now, but obviously I want a solution as placing a call on speakerphone is not always an option. Any ideas? From reading the internet, I've seen this is a known issue with the DEFY....

Yes, it seems that some early batches of this phone are more prone to present this issue. It's a hardware problem. Some posts around the internet state that it might be caused by usage of the wired headset. Anyway, Motorola is aware of this problem, and they seem to be either fixing faulty phones or replacing them by new ones. So, you must send yours to be repaired, under warranty. Contact either the store or seller you bought your phone from, or Motorola, directly, for further details

Anyway, a possible workaround for this issue is to use the wired (original) or a bluetooth headset for phone calls.

Really hope you are able to have your phone fully funcioning pretty soon. This phone is pretty amazing!

Regards,
Carlos

On incoming calls a voice notifies me the number and or the persons name then the ring tone !! need to stop this Voice ! It happened after telsra updates !!

One thing that comes to my mind, if your Defy is running Froyo, go to 'Menu > Settings > Accessibility', and make sure to uncheck the 'Voice readouts' checkbox.
Just my 2 cents...
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.

It's not a big problem.There are two ways you can find problem in your mobile first is your muted. Second is your mic as some problem that means it is not working.The best way to get fixed for this problem is to visit to your nearest service provider for repair while you go you should take the bill of your phone there they will fix your phone for you with out any cost.They will solve your problem by changing your mic. var geo_Partner = '687b82b2-54e8-44dc-93c0-87c73f39cdb0'; var geo_isCG = true;

I cannot hear people when they call me but they can hear me. If I call out I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me

There are three possible problems that I can think of.

1) Probably the most obvious. Your microphone is broken. This could have happened if your phone took a tumble

2) The wire inside of the phone connected to the microphone is disconnected or ripped.

3) You have your in-call settings on Mute. Next time you make a phone call, see if it says "mute" anywhere on the screen.

I would bring the phone to your carrier's nearest store and have them look at it. If it's a problem that arrived without you being at fault, they should replace it for free.

Hope this helped!

Why cant I hear the person on thep Phone incoming calls

First of all make sure the volume is high. Try talking in speakerphone mode. If you can hear in speaker phone mode, then your ear piece might be not working.
